US Immigration Crisis
I didn’t see an immigration thread so I figured I would add one. This problem seems to be worsening everyday of the current admin. Hopefully some of our new elected officials can help with this. Mr. Luttrell is a great start
Are you serious here? roe v wade, role of federal agencies, smoking bans, you think everything is predetermined by "the system" and voting never changes those kinds of things?
why aren't plastic straws banned in all cities? why do some states have castle doctrine defense allowed, in others you have to flee from your home if people enter armed?
voting matters, the opinion of the people who vote in a place matter, they shape what is allowed and what isn't, they determine how much of your stuff is v
Everything you listed here was not decided by voting in my state, except one. Most of it is common law and legislation.
If you mean like when it I was unconstitutional to have a federal income tax, there was no EPA, no FDA, and fiscal intake as a percentage of GDP local+state+fed was in the single digits, sign me up!
I don't necessarily agree with you on those things, but regardless, I wouldn't let people enacting laws that I didn't like turn me into a kidnapper.
No, it's incredible that you demand others earn a right that you yourself didn't have to earn.
I didn't have to earn American citizenship because I am not an American citizen.
But in general no it's not incredible to ask for people to do something worthwhile to join a group many people want to join, even if some of the group member didnt do much to be members of such group

My dad is an American citizen.
And everything that happens in the capital of the empire (the USA) has repercussions in the empire.
I live in Europe and american politican decisions materially affect my life, and culturally shape our nations.
EDIT for additional details: the USA is the only country in the world where there are sizeable pockets of actual libertarianism, the last beacon of hope for libertarians everywhere on the planet.
Everywhere else collectivism won every single fight.
Nonetheless you didn't do anything to become a citizen of whatever backwater European nation you live in but you're still happy to demand other people jump through hoops to immigrate to your country.
In the anti-family, blank slate view of the left, you can deny inheritance to be one of the crucial defining element of human coexistence.
If you open your mind to the idea that you do inherit the merits of your ancestors because DNA matters and property rights don't cease with death, you could try to understand a model in which individuals don't matter that much but actual families, bloodlines, are what define human societies.
In that worldview, you don't need to INDIVIDUALLY deserve anything, your family of which you are just a cog of does.
Blood is thick and matters more than everything else for people who didn't forget the lessons of history.
And blood is what gives you a right to citizenship.

In Guatemala apparently you just have to leave the country every 3 months-- but I just learned you have to go to Mexico or Belize you can't go to El Salvador because they won't stamp you there. Apparently when you travel to any of Guatemala/El Salvador/Nicaragua it's all the same.90 days you get...but you can stay forever just leaving every 3 months and you don't even have to be gone a day.

Brazil was similar for many people up until recently, your 90 days visa-free stay could be reset by travel (with some caveats)

Just check Moldavia or Ukraine (pre war), wastelands deprived of young ambitious adults, they all went away

I think eventually some sort of stasis would argue though where eventually the US would become a country that people no longer wanted to come to.
