***What a Waste of Time; I Mean, What a Bold Choice February LC Thread***

At a cashier job I worked during college summers, there was a real dumbass on the crew who thought the funniest thing in the world was to startle people. One day, as one of the women was getting off shift and readying to go home, the dumbass decided to go duck in front of the hood of her car to hide. He waited until she turned the car on, and then when she did he came jumping out and yelled at her, catching her completely off-guard. She correctly freaked out on him as he laughed his ass off. She yelled, "YOU IDIOT! I COULD HAVE STEPPED ON THE GAS AND RUN YOU OVER!" Dude just continued laughing and replied, "Yeah, but I scared you though."

Do you ever wonder what ever happened to the guy?
I would be forever imagining him exiting in an autoerotic asphyxiation experience gone horrribly wrong.
Happy Leap Year, With Exclamation Points Just For You!!!
I thought it was still Jan 40th.
I hope I remember to repost this in early September:
You could go ahead and start the Sept thread now
No! That would make it close to fall (and thus winter).
Starting the April thread would be o.k. though.
It might start a horrible trend of not starting the monthly threads after the first of the month.

Newbury's dead. He won't be writing another song that fits for April.
Looks like I'll be biding my time and depending upon my memory. Patience and memory. Ruh roh!
Two years in a row!

I signed up for 3 months of Audible at a great discount. I'm on my 3rd month now and have 1 credit to use before I cancel and would have to pay full price.
Anyone have a great recommendation for a title? fwiw, my favorite novel is Catch 22 and I enjoy intellectual type stuff like Malcolm Gladwell wrote, although I already knew much of what he wrote in Blink already.
how about Kesey or Vonnegut?
Think you might like Boys in the Boat
Depression era war time Nazi etc... struggle to face your own obstacles in life. Based on a true story from the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Yeah if you're looking for an audio book, that one works, particularly since Edward Hermann has one of the greatest reading voices imaginable.
The movie is quite bland. And dangerously serves as pro-University of Washington propaganda.
Listening to someone read me a book puts me to sleep faster than if I was reading the book myself although I haven't tried it in a lot of years. Any place to start? I'm way more non-fiction than fiction and biographies are pretty interesting.

I just saw this was available. I’d recommend this over the above.
We’ve been waiting 10 years for volume 2. I don’t think it’s coming.

That sounds interesting, thanks.
I really like the intro to that song Tom.
Some excellent book recommendations itt. Hope everyone is doing well. It's been a mild summer here but expecting things to get a bit warmer soon so hopefully see some lovely late garden tomatoes.
