I was going by your post, I don't go in that thread. Fair enough - I guess I didn't make the distinction between "supporting genocide" and "genocide lover".

I actually mentioned that distinction in the post that announced the ban. While many disagree with my analysis, I laid out the reasoning for not banning someone who says that someone who supports a country's war effort could also be considered to support the consequences of that war effort. That's why saying someone supports baby killing doesnt draw a ban if the war effort is, in fact, killing babies.

But even if one takes that premise to be true (and there is a case to be made it isnt) I think the farthest you can take that connection is that people support the war effort in spite of the baby deaths because they consider the deaths a terrible but necessary consequence of destroying Hamas. But to take that a step further and say that people love seeing babies killed is outside the lines.

So the same principle applies to genocide. It's debatable whether what is happening is genocide. People have different opinions on that. But even if you take that as the case, to refer to people as "genocide lovers" goes far beyond the war effort/consequences logic train.

I guess the key word in that analysis is "despite", which is a very generous inference from Victor's incessant cries of "you support killing babies", but assuming we're making that inference, your reasoning is entirely consistent.

ETA: I highly doubt it's a distinction Victor himself made, otherwise he would not have committed such an egregious error to lead to a two week ban.

People revel in death and destruction all the time. On a subconscious level they do enjoy it. Read Freud.

Destruction of what they perceive as enemies /bad people yes sure, wanton destruction of innocents, small children in particular? Hardly

Maybe it's just Americans.

Mods, rickroll seems to have an untapped creative streak, and he is rather talented, if I say so myself. I guess what he really needed to let those creative juices flow was free time. So for that reason, I recommend we ban him more often, and for longer durations.
