How much?

whatever it would take would have saved me money from punting at Venetian

holy smokes, first hand after break, 3k/6k/6k
I raise UTG with A7hh. 7 on the flop, A on the turn, I double up.

two hands later blind v blind, with QJhs, J on the river, runout goes JT985sss... he has a 7 for straight, I've got the better side.

Next hand someone goes all in, I call
me AK v AQ. I looked away but Q on river, K on turn, A on river. might have gone AK, whatever, Ive got stacks.

a couple raise and takes, later with KThh I hit the nut flush, and I am now cruising

up over 500k in one level

We are in the money and I made it to another break. 23 left, I'm above average stack.

win it!

Great news to wake up to!

Hope you’re still playing, take it down!!!

He probably went either to Spearmint Rhino to celebrate, or to the nearest bar to drown his sorrows 😀

...I'm not paying $18 for a slice of pizza or $35 for some noodles

Looks like a +EV decision. Congratulations on the cash, looking forward to the report of a big score!

Wynn is an interesting place to play poker on a Friday night because the tables are right next to a walkway intersection where crazy rich and beautiful people constantly walk by. a parade of beautiful women dressed as strippers right behind my chair for hours.

I had a few benchmarks I was watching. ITM obviously, but I was pretty comfortable so my first goal was 20th, as that was a pay jump. we were stuck on 22 for quite a while.
with 3 tables left I knocked out 2 players.

after 8 hours I had quit keeping track of hand histories. there are so many big hands. additionally, my phone battery died and my charger was in my car (the poker room charger device machine was offline).

next benchmark was 17th because that crossed $1000. hit that, and I was one of the shorter stacks. had a chance to call an all-in with AThh but folded. immediately after I felt that was the wrong move but whatever. as it went I ended up knocking out 2 players with 2 tables left and continued to ladder up.

next benchmark was 8th, because that crossed $2000. blinds were so high and any dry spell gets costly, but I stayed patient. I was very short with like 10-11 left but patiently got to the final table.

I was in obvious shove anything mode but did not get a playable hand and let my blinds go. with 100k (2bb) I got a hand and doubled up. the next hand I doubled up and was into a safer range about 500k. 9th busted, and I got hot cards. I took out the player in 8th, and with 7 left, I was the chip leader with about 2M. dead phone so no chip porn at that point.

I got into a big pot: 30k/60k/60k: my AQ on a A64 flop. turn was 8, river J, and I lost AQ < A8 for about a million chips. I don't know if that is a hand I can and should have gotten away from.

that was the last hand of any significance. someone suggested an ICM chop, after 13 hours of play everyone agreed, and I walked away with $6846 (which was better than the original 4th). the guy I doubled up got credit for the win. could have been me if I folded AQ on an ace high flop 7-handed.

what a day

Fantastic! Well done. Mrs. Langdon is going to be very happy 😀

Nice score! Sounds like the blinds were so high the right play was probably getting it in with the AQ. Really depends on how much you value laddering up vs going for the win. But with extremely shallow stacks it’s never a bad play to get it in with AQ pre flop or on an Ace high flop.

Congratulations, Langdon! Too bad about the AQ hand.

****ing awesome

Now that's a nice score! Congrats.

next benchmark reached was not getting mugged going to my car. I didn't have a backpack, my wallet was overstuffed and I had $6000 in cash loose in my other pocket, along with my phone charger and phone, and I was bleary-eyed after 15 hours of roller coaster poker.

Westgate is a very confusing property, especially at 1:30am. the parking situation is very confusing. felt like the garage was 2 miles from the nearest hotel door, which is the opposite side from the lobby. I didn't do anything but check in, sleep, shower and check out. room was nice, seems like a nice resort if the price is right. don't know a reason to stay there again though, other than it was a somewhat convenient drive to the airport, direct shot down Paradise.

picked up Mrs Langdon and drove to my sister's house to spend the day. got Chick-fil-A for my first food since Thursday dinner.

have a dinner reservation and tickets to a show on Strip tonight. I think my gaming is done, though I may sneak in some blackjack.

****ing AWESOME!

Congrats bro!!

Great Score! Those Wynn tourneys are super well run and I think the best dailies in LV. You are killing this trip!

Grats! Nice late climb from scraping the felt!

everything about the tournament management was pristine. the Wynn poker room staff is unmatched in their professionalism. win or lose, it's a good experience

Mrs Langdon wanted to spend some time with my sister and my sister wanted to see us. she has 3 kids under the age of 2, so we didn't really do anything other than lounge around, take a nap and play with babies.

We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory and I splurged more than ever before, getting a specialty mocktail, appetizer, meal and dessert. it was the best meal we had all week. I am going to follow MrBaseball and make it a tradition.

lettuce wraps, gumbo, she got Korean crispy chicken. I will say that the gumbo at Lucille's at Red Rock is far superior

I made a few mistakes in my trip planning and one of them was buying tickets to Blue Man Group on Saturday. not because of the show, but because getting back to Luxor from the NW the night before the Super Bowl put me in the craziest traffic/driving situation ever. from I-15 to Spring Mountain to Mel Torme to Sammy Davis to Frank Sinatra was one huge mass of cars all trying to merge over. in one of mankind's greatest feats, I managed to cross like 7 lanes over in like 500 feet from the onramp for Spring Mountain to Mel Torme.

Blue Man Group was incredible. this was my second time seeing it and I don't think the show has changed in the last 10 years but it is still so good and fresh. I recommend everybody experience it.

that's our trip. flight is tomorrow, next place I go is the airport. I can't wait to see my dog who is suffering from depression without me. I'll do a wrap up sometime soon.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Congrats on the tourney. Buy that woman a new pair of shoes before you go home!

+1 to what mark said

Looks like a great run and a great trip! I'm jealous!

Nice trip and nice TR!

Get the pup a new toy as well!

Need a pic of the happy dog when you get home. Safe travels. So glad it was a fun and profitable trip!

Nice score! If Westgate has valet parking, that probably would be the way to go to avoid that long-ass walk. But they probably don't.

Also, looking forward to any changes in your wife's stance on your gambling based on this score.
