President Joe Biden
Right now, we need VP Biden, we need him to step down and drop out so Bernie sanders can save this country from this global crisis just like FDR.
A thread to debate the efficacy of a Joe Biden Presidency in the midst of a global pandemic and impending Great Recession/Depression.
Where is Joe Biden? Can he beat Trump and is he even trying to? What would a Joe Biden Presidency look like in these times? Where is he and why isn't he leading?
He would vote any democrat over any republican because he knows how important SCOTUS is.
That's fair and fully understandable i would just like people admitted that.
The worst democrat human being is preferable to the best republican human being as POTUS for anyone who is enough to the left to consider SCOTUS being leftist crucial (and viceversa).
Another republican presidential term right now means a republican SCOTUS for 30+, years.
SCOTUS has close to unlimited power (albeit it self limits itself more under right-wing principles than under leftwing principles), a decision can destroy or make fundamental principles of social cohabitation unlike any normal majority decision can in Congress.
crooked joe biden stuck pretty well. what are you talking about?
biden gets booed out everywhere he goes, wheraes trump gets celebrated everywhere he goes.
joe biden is 96 f years old. if you think he makes another presidency youre all crazy.
You'll believe pretty much anything that comes across your feed, won't you?
That could end up being true, but the amusing thing is that his likely opponent is the most disliked, so I'm not all that clear what your point is.
Bigger was a republican before Trump, maybe still is so bad example
I was more curious about slighted
I would be surprised if the POTUS during the next term has the opportunity to appoint more than one justice to the SCOTUS. And it might be zero if a Democrat wins and if you believe that Thomas will never retire while a Democrat is in office.
I am virtually certain that Thomas will retire if a Republican wins the WH.
Even so, you are correct that SCOTUS appointments will be a motivating factor for voters in both parties. That's the inevitable consequence of the Republican dog catching the car.

You would have to shoot Thomas repeatedly with silver bullets and be lucky, to have him retire under any president imho
The best way to get Thomas out of SCOTUS is to teach him how to cash out post retirement. He seems to really chafe under ethics rules, as thin as they are, as is.
You tell him how to be rich after he just frees himself of the shackles of the mores/norms of SCOTUS, he’s gonna get a plasma cutter to get himself out of SCOTUS.
Harris says she is ready to serve and it would be a historic presidency with the first Black woman in office.
Vice President Kamala Harris in a recent interview said she was "ready to serve" as president amid voter concerns about President Joe Biden' age
"I am ready to serve. There's no question about that," Harris told The Journal.
The vice president then told the newspaper that people who've observed her job performance are "fully aware of my capacity to lead."
Even before winning the 2020 election, Biden said that Harris would be a full partner in the White House, which many saw as the veteran Washington figure setting up Harris as the future of the Democratic Party — and as his successor in the 2028 presidential election.
Harris throughout her vice presidency has remained relatively popular with Black voters and young voters, two critical groups whose turnout will be critical if Biden is to remain in the White House past January 2025.
He is the oldest justice. I don't think he enjoys being on the court as much as some people. I don't think he likes the ethics rules. I don't think he cares about the reputation of the court or what happens on the court after he is off it.
easily yes.
there is no one i know of in the republican party that i would consider as a candidate for president. maaayyybe Hogan? but the republicans don't like him because he's somewhat a normal person. he still sucks though compared to virtually any democrat on pretty much every issue. a democrat in the potus seat is required to keep the crazy at bay in the likely case the senate goes Red. although i think the house may return blue.
No republicans will get my vote until they (the party) decide not to be bat-**** crazy sycophants. I realize Romney is a grain of sanity on a beach of insanity but still, no.
fyi - I voted for Romney in 2012.
So do you plan to vote for Biden or whomever the dem candidate will be, or third party, or abstain?
Biden. There won't be another dem candidate.
Unlike a lot of folks here, I think biden is doing a fine job. He at least takes his position seriously. I could care less how old he is.
It's one thing to be disgusted by the republican party because they have too many people in you dislike and so on, but i don't follow how if you are rightwing in your political preference, you would vote for a leftwing president who would nominate leftwing people in his admin, as judges for all federal courts and so on.
Why don't you think voting third party in a way that signals you have rightwing preferences but dislike the current republican party would be better for you?

I'm conflicted what I'm going to do and still consider myself moderate right
The isolation policies of the right is my biggest hangup
