Depends on who you ask/believe. What doesn't seem up for debate is that they tried to work out an extension pre-season and couldn't come to a deal.
Ok, fine, no big deal. But then the season started and the Pacers had a historically great offense. At that point, a competant front office would pivot and pay their 31 year old iron man and cruicial part of their offense.
Especially when some of their rookies and sophomores are playing poorly.
