OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. rofl insane level of delusion there.

Why didnt they hire him if he was the best candidate? How would he know he was the best candidate at each place? What if one candidate was better at one of them?

He went to nebraska for law school, number 89 law school in the country according to my google search just now, did he finish at the top of his class? Seems unlikely given the stories hes told (i know that was unfair too, the professors didnt grade by the rubric!!!)

At what point do you look in the mirror and think maybe you arent the best?

50 days * 8 hours * $25 per = $10,000 less withholding of $1,000 = $9,000

Rice could live like a king on $300 a week for the rest of the year if dealt during the WSOP.

If it does deal, I will fly out and hopefully memorize the historic milestone with a Polaroid.

That is a picture for all you kiddies.

by iwasbanned k

This is a OMFG great reply by Rice in today's YouTube vlog.

Rice: "I prefer to enjoy my life. -- You also seem to underestimate the hiring process. I applied for about 100 law positions. For each one I was the best candidate. I got zero offers."

Wonder how he knew he was the best candidate for each job. Maybe he told them he was.

I had a co-worker that did that. He was a contractor, and during a phone interview we could all hear, he told the hiring manager "You don't want that guy, because I can guarantee you that I'm better than him". Of course he knew nothing about the guy. I had to fix some of this guy's work, too. He was a B- programmer at best. And he was getting paid too, $100+ an hour. One thing about contractor programmers, the bigger the talk, the bigger the pay. The hiring managers don't know how good or bad they are.

The whole concept of full and honest disclosure is a joke.

Why doesn't Rice just report a $50 an-hour win rate, pocketed 13 bad beat jackpots last year, bangs supermodels, wears a fat suit, is Troop's father, and won thirty tournaments in Bolivia for a ton of coke?

It would increase views.

Minwage in NV is only $12 an hour.

Last year wsop was guaranteeing dealers a certain amount per down, it was fairly high. High enough that I assume they were desperate

Plus, playing poker to grind a 5x promo is a terrible way to get tier credits. Just about any slots are better. Unlikely anyone is playing poker for the promo besides diesel.

True, except for the inconvenient fact that grinding poker with a positive win rate is infinitely better than grinding slots with a negative win rate.

Confession: I played poker last year during the 5X tier credit promos, and attained D+ status on fewer than 400 total CET hours played in 2023. This year it seems that they may be closing this poker loophole, which means I’ll have to assess whether it’s worth it to chase Diamond or D+. .

In Diesel's latest vlog he seems burned out on the #pokerlife. Our protagonist is being worn down by the fast life and easy money that the pokers has brought to him. It's all fun and games when you're crushing for $14 an hour, eating slurry sardine appetizers off the hood of your car, and living in motel rooms and 2 star casino accomodations every night. But after 7 years it is what everyone has always stated about poker... it's a grind.

In all seriousness after 7 years and you are actually making less than when you started, it might be time to pivot to a new career.

It would actually be hilarious if he was beating 1/2 nl for like 35 an hour, playing some 2/5 beating that for 50 an hour and just lazily making these videos in case he ever gets audited for massively underreporting his income.

Possibly. With how many days he's already in their system it may but the best way. But if you have very little play at Caesars running a bunch of money through slots video poker etc on a multiplier day makes tons of sense if you're gonna then end up being in Vegas a lot. Even better if you'll also be at their properties in other locations. You can book tons of comped rooms all over the place worth way more than the expected loss on the machines. You'll also get some free play etc at first.

I remember not going to Vegas at all for a couple of years and then doing diamond in a day in maybe 2015 or so. It took me something like a loss of 600 in ev to get it in a day where I lost about 1200 of actual Dollars. Over the next 2 years I stayed something like 50 nights in Vegas comped and maybe 25-30 in AC many of them weekend nights giving them zero action except the occasional short session in the Caesars poker room in Vegas. After no playing them a few times offers got worse (harder to get weekends for example) but it took a while to wear the comps totally disappeared. Overall it was well worth the 1200 that I lost.

In his case he still might be better off doing it on machines but he wouldn't get offers that were that good bc it wouldn't pull his ADT up that much.

Yeah, he seems wore down despite claiming multiple times that he makes more money than he needs+having that magical 100K++ portfolio he can withdraw from if he needs some cash infusion to the bankroll.

Despite this he cannot handle losing a 200 bucks buyin without running back to his room to decompress and rant to the camera. Makes total sense of course.

One dealer told the table last year he was getting $75/down.

Didn’t a dealer do a YouTube video about what he made at the WSOP a year or two ago. Said he made like 33K or something in 9 weeks?

One of the Bellagio dealers last summer was hired only for the 7-8 week window as well. Her English was atrocious but she was a very good dealer.

Pretty sure they were getting $15/down for Hold ‘em tournaments and $18/down for mixed tournaments. So if min wage is $12/hr that’s $42-$48/hr when they deal tournaments. Subtract a little for the time they’re on break and it’s probably around $40-$45/hr. Not sure how good the tips were in the cash table section. And pretty dumb for a dealer to brag about how much they make per down at a table!

Diesel literally loses less than a buy in over 4 days and is having a mental breakdown and has to quit because the swings are too much.

This man is a professional gambler.

He lost $210 in 36.65 hours and that is what is was losing his mind over. lol

Diesel lost less than $6 an hour. That's much less than what a person pays in rake per hour. This 'professional poker player' should be embarrassed. But in his mind, we're the ones who are wrong, who don't understand variance shouldn't happen to him.

But he's in the top 1% of 1/2 players says himself and his friend ITT, and he'll retire in 10 years sleeping on a mattress full of cash?

Crazy times we're living in.

Someone in the comments asked him what his VPIP is, he will never answer I am sure but what do we think his VPIP/PFR is?

Like 9/7?

Imagine your player status if you had 400 hours on vp.

Because when theoretical has him up $360 and he's down $210, that's a $570 difference or 57 playing hours. This is what happens when your variance is so low and your hourly is so low as well. Any negative swing is killer.

One of my WSOP dealers told me he made a lot more than that. He worked Diesel-hours, like over 10 hours a day on average, 7 days a week. He was a young guy in his 20's.

Since it's a skill-driven game, improve his skill.

Someone asked him about getting coaching and he shot that down because that would mean more time dedicated to poker which he doesn't want to do. Less pokers the better.

It is surprising that no one has suggested Troop deal in the series.

Or that Timmy would be the perfect poker coach for Rice.
