Has anybody ever developed an app/platform that has VIG free betting? Something like this thread, where players have to fill other bets, but in the form of an app? I remember people talking about it ITT sporadically over the years but can't recall if something similar was ever created?

That's really interesting. Have you tried it at all? I wonder what the legality of something like that is. Could you theoretically have it available in all 50 states?

i'm curious what the settlement mechanism is. says it's done daily, but doesn't specify via how. maybe the parties are meant to communicate between each other and determine how they want to settle.

This is correct from how I understand it. There isn't any exchange of funds on part of the website but is done person to person. The problem is there is no recourse if someone doesn't pay except banning from site from my understanding.

I think the site / App can't ever be in charge of holding or transferring funds because that would make it illegal

This was my major question as well. The site isn't taking a vig but does holding/transferring funds make it illegal? There are other non-sports betting sites that do this and seem to operate fine.
