For those that are newer, hello and welcome.

As I count down the days to each Vegas trip, there are certain milestones that help me survive the Vegas Jones’ing. 100 days to go, this date next month, the milk I just bought has the same use by date as my departure date, etc. Every year is the same and every milestone is mentally greeted like an excited child opening doors on their advent calendar in the countdown to Christmas. Vegas trips are my Christmas, and Vegas at WSOP time is like Christmas and birthdays rolled into one. And not just because of the expense.

Watbri and I are a couple of low stakes regs in our local cardrooms (Watbri in Northern California and me in Melbourne, Australia) and annual shot takers come WSOP time. This year, I will be firing my shots between 9th June and 22nd June and Watbri (the yellow submarine man), will be making two 3 or 4 day trips during this time. My good friend guitarist68 is also making the trip from Melbourne this year – his second WSOP trip. His dates pretty much align with mine and hopefully he’ll add some of his photos/stories/updates as they happen.

Our plans are usually simple and this year is no different; play a lot of cash games across the various card rooms in town (mainly $1/$3 and $2/$5), fire a few tourney shots (mainly mixed games and for me, the $1.5K 2-7 triple draw WSOP event), throw some dice, indulge my addiction for table massages, hope to break even at pai gow and eat at Craftsteak. There’s normally a few hand reviews, some over indulgence in alcohol, and food porn pics thrown in for good measure.

We both have a good record of not doing a Blasted when it comes to live trip reports, as I’m sure regs to this forum with attest. That said, a little bit of engagement and encouragement goes a long way with these things so please do add your comments, or if you are in town, come say “Hey, wassup”. In return, we promise to keep the trip report going with photos of chipstacks, complaints about suckouts, and stories from Las Vegas as we experience them first hand.

There’ll be plenty more to come, but for now, it’s time to take pictures of my shoes and bankroll, and pack my case ready for the 24 hour journey that begins tomorrow. See y’all on the other side of the Pacific.
