Yeah Colombia. Although I typically stick to the small towns and I'm here for hiking and bird watching. Last time I did blow I was in Kansas City. I haven't even smoked any weed while in Colombia but I smoked a crap ton while in Guatemala.

I never deliberately type apostrophes when I type a contraction. If the autocorrect adds it, fine. But I refuse to bother to switch to another keyboard on my ipad just to add the apostrophe. IMO just as technology has killed cursive writing, I think it will eventually kill the apostrophe in contractions. Does anyone really give a **** or not grasp the meaning represented by the word dont or don't?

You need to get a new keyboard app if you have to go to another page for that. On mine it's on the (long press) V key. Thought it was somewhere like that on any virtual keyboard.

I just use the keyboard that comes with the ipad. Maybe I used the wrong phrasing of different keyboard. When I am typing on the keyboard with all the letter keys, to add the apostrophe I have to hit the 123 key that switches the keyboard to the one with the number and various symbol keys, hit the ' and then it returns to the letter keys.

No, you were describing it perfectly, and the same is the case on my keyboard. But chillrob inspired me to explore, and it turns out that a long press of the period on mine has the apostrophe come up among other options, so that could be useful. Thanks, chillrob!

I'll be honest, if you put a gun to my head and asked me to explain the difference between the simple past tense and the past participle, I doubt I could. I guess I just intuitively know how to use them.

I now expect everyone to use proper punctuation here.
