Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?

I have read about it in the past, just curious.

So just to clarify did you get the Merry Go Round match without having to have the Wyndham card or did you pay the $95 annual fee in order to get the match?

I’m the OG Founders Card guy. No matches, I just pay the $295 annual fee to FC. There used to be several other things I’d use with FC, but not really anymore. I’ve stuck with them because somehow they ended up giving my gf a spouse membership free, so the 2 diamond dinners made it a no brainer for me.

Edit: sounds like this may be the last year for that though

So basically everyone needs to get the Wyndham card from this point foward or else no Merry Go Round.

Yea and they'll probably kill that in a year or two.

Is that for new credit cards or does it count for existing as well?

I think it's only for existing and/or a targeted offer. I have a fresh offer for a new Caesars Rewards Visa Signature card, and it's Platinum for any purchase within 90 days, plus 10k Reward Credits and 2500 Tier Credits for $1k of spending outside of Caesars resorts within 90 days. No mention of Diamond anywhere.

They ran this promo a few years back and I'm pretty sure it was only for existing. I also think you're supposed to be invited, but I forwarded the email I got that year to a friend and she was able to use it.

Anyone having trouble matching Wyndham diamond to Caesars diamond via biz earner card use this link: https://www.caesars.com/myrewards/profil...

Found it on flyertalk and I am now pending

Just requested it on mine so we’ll see. Seems the issue is on Wyndham’s side and they say it will be resolved in early March. But if the request comes from Caesars to Wyndham, maybe that will work around the system a bit and get it to match.

Requested Wyndham Diamond match thru Caesars site on Feb. 1 and got it thru about 5 days ago. So it is working though takes roughly two weeks to process.

I find Wyndham perks to be near useless.
Diamond is their highest tier but i've never gotten a suite upgrade.
'No suites available' everytime even though their own website says it's available.

Note:
I would have booked with them anyway without the Diamond perks because price, location, and/or convenience

Couldn't tell you the last time I stayed at a Wyndham property

The Wyndham Earners Business card gets 8x on all gas purchases(no max that I am aware of). Basically comes out to $8 per $100 spent on gas that can be transferred to total rewards + status match to diamond = no resort fees + $100 dinner (covers cards annual fee). They also give 10k anniversary points a year. Running my company and family gas through the card nets me $750+ in comps year. If you own a small business or have a EIN its a no brainer.

“Hello XXX

Thank you for reaching out and for the kind words about our phone support team. Regarding the Caesars Rewards Diamond status, I'm sorry to report that we're not currently processing new Caesars upgrades. We have been working with Caesars for about a decade so this was not expected.

We understand this was a valuable benefit, especially for events like the WSOP.

I'm so sorry for any disappointment, but we do have about 500+ Member exclusive benefits as well that I hope you will take advantage of.

Best,”

So it sounds like FC and Caesars are officially no longer working together. If that’s the case will those if you with FC continue to keep it or was the match the primary benefit for you?

Eldorado strikes again. Cheapskates.

The match was the only benefit for me. I'll cancel for sure. There were several things when I first found them that were useful, but not anymore. All the discounts they offer can pretty much be found for free elsewhere, I think.

I am happy that it's looking like we'll at least stay diamond until next year.

So has anyone been able to tier match from Wyndham Diamond to Caesars Diamond without having either the Founders or Wyndham Business credit card? Pretty much the loopholes are all closed?

Looks like all the loopholes have been closed. On the plus side I'll never feel compelled to stay at a Caesars property again.

I have 9800 tier credits this year from NFL betting through Caesars app. I only bet NFL which is obviously over, and I don't play table games.

How can I get 5200 more tier credits? Trying to do it before June so i have diamond for this and next wsop.

Is there a CC I can apply for that gets me tier credits?

EDIT:
I see the following offer for opening a new visa: "Earn 5,000 Tier Credits by spending $5,000 in a calendar year on your Caesars Rewards Visa.*"

Anyone know how long it takes them to issue once you spend the $5k? I have a couple big purchases plans and can probably hit $5k by the end of March. Would I get the tier credit by June?

Thanks

caesars visa will get you 2500 of them with activation and another 5000 with $5000 spend

Hey,

I had 2 bookings now for the end of March. I'm comped 3 nights from 25th of March and 1st of April and from 4th to 10th of April I'm fully comped at the Horseshoe. The 3 days in between I am comped at MGM.

To skip the hassle of moving though I figured I just pay the $80 to stay the 3 days at Horseshoe but when I try to book those days I get hit by resort fees. Is it standard to pay resort fees if you fill out the days between 2 comped bookings? Or will it be waved when I get there?

you can only have 7 nights comped total per reservation and need 48 hours inbetween comp stays.
If you actually go to check out and pay online it probably won't even go through. Their computer system is also super glitchy which is probably why the resort fee popped up. Basically it spazzed out since you can't actually book that.

They MIGHT let you book the 3 nights inbetween for that rate when you call up since none of those 3 nights are comped and then you'll have 3 separate reservations but i think the over 7 nights comp thing will still be an issue.

I’ve heard of people getting discounts and resort fees waived through their host when they lose on a trip, but not up front. And to be honest I’m not sure how much the host thing helps nowadays either for all but the highest rated gamblers.

Anyhow, the middle reservation is not made using your CR account. It’s as if you’re just a person off the street. You can apply discount codes which may be available to everyone (such as the WSOP code in the summer), but other than that, yes you have to pay the resort fees.

You only need to do this for two nights, though and you can add the third night to either your first or last reservation and get no resort fees for that one night.

Unless you’re willing to deal with the hassle of changing hotels, what you need to figure out is, which costs more:

A) the three reservation setup like I described where you have to pay resort fees for the middle two nights, or

B) having a single reservation for the entire stay and only getting to use 7 comps instead of 10.

Whichever is cheaper, that is what you want to do. Be aware, if you do B you can typically use the 7 comps on any night you have comps available, so it may be more beneficial to use some of them on nights other than the last 7. It’s been a while since I booked online so I’m not sure if you’re able to make a single reservation that long without calling in. However it may make sense to call in anyhow since then you can choose which of the 7 comped nights to use, and that may be better than the online system just picking the first 7.

In my experience in recent years, the difference between A and B won’t be huge given how watered down comps have become and how astronomical resort fees have become. But a little extra cash staying in your pocket never hurts.
