I am a literal legend of gambling, ask me anything.
What im doing is a gift to this dead site but they will probably lock the thread since they want no traffic or interest.
Skin care/self-care routines/regiments??
What’s the biggest golf bet you ever made?
Did you get paid for the 25k golf bet?
never gamble and make a point of never gambling (including soft gambling like playing on a stake, selling pieces or swapping to play bigger than your roll) .
be like the rake. or better yet, be the actual rake.
play a lot when you feel like playing and dont play at all when you dont.
have several interests which you enjoy as much as poker/advantage play
never date a poker player/gambler.
do anything you want any time you want IN MODERATION
save for a rainy day.
Can you elaborate why you'd classify selling pieces as soft gambling? The smallest plo games in my area tend to be already too big for me (5/10) and I figured selling some action might be prudent.
A lot of this discussion started about high stakes poker being dead and disappearing altogether. I've spent some time looking into this and I don't see this as being the case. I see a lot of 5/10 games spread out across the entire country (live). 10/20 and higher, with structures like 10/20/50 + bb ante, etc are everywhere live. I don't know what's going on in LA as I've always been based out of the NYC area but perhaps SoCal isn't the live poker hub it once was. /shrug.
Online? WPN and BOL both have high stakes games running. BOL has had a full pool of 80+ players in the 5/10 zoom for days straight now. WPN has nosebleeds running pretty regularly. 25/50 reg tables are running every night and there are games even higher than that. I sat and watched guys play 100/200 the other afternoon. Wild swings in a short period of time.
This, of course, doesn't even mention private games. Regardless of the state of the economy, there will always be people with money and apparently - always be people looking to gamble with it.
Wow that AI mod bot sure is sensitive.

I dont consider poker a team sport and I believe the one player to a hand rule extends to the necessary game pieces for the contest (chips). most people who sell and swap want to play bigger because of the rush/ego boost. they would actually make more money having 100% of themselves in a smaller game but they have a gambling problem which will only show itself once they are completely broke and muttering about bad beats as they try to get their next stake. players with no gamble are very unlikely to seek out other peoples money to gamble with.
hosting a poker game is a "free roll" for me. Im going to hang out with gamblers and golf, go to the casino and organize a game play a few hours a week etc etc. no matter what. i might as well get paid for it, its a win/win for the casino and me. I am functionally retired, i dont spend even a minute of each day doing anything but exactly what i want to be doing.
I don't buy it. That 'win/win' hourly is totally meaningless if you have $5m+ and your posts make it seem like you'd prefer golfing to walking around a casino even for risk free $. The boomerang of the Julian story while predictable just isn't something I'd want to be around instead of a golf clubhouse. Seems like it may be a superiority complex...the guys at the casino have way less $ than you but the guys on the golf course are more successful by any measure...or maybe it's an alcohol thing as some of the 'haters' have mentioned. Never too late to cut back if it's the latter, you can afford a comfortable lifestyle and have many years to enjoy
10% of american households have networth of 7+ figures
they still work

5 million isn't so huge that your wage becomes meaningless, especially in Los Angeles. If I had five million I would continue working for my 40/hr, at least for a few years I would think.

so apparently if you want to go different places during the day at your own leisure and see people you enjoy and do things you enjoy thats bad now? and if you get paid for it its worse? there are some serious freaks on these boards.

1. How/When did you meet Wayne Chung aka Winston O. Cash?
Part 2. What if your favorite Wayne joke?
what is the lowest point of:
business life
love life
gambling life
life in general
and how did you climb back if you did
Hey Limon, some big PLO games have been running at Hustler daily, do you only play at the bike or do you go to other places occasionally?
1. How/When did you meet Wayne Chung aka Winston O. Cash?
Part 2. What if your favorite Wayne joke?
Ok didn’t realize that I may have already asked part 2. It’s an important question and worthy. But part 1 is also crucial. Didn’t you meet him in college or something and room with him?
