It seems like there's a lot of conflict and unhappiness in the world these days. It gets me down. One of the few things

quite mind-blowing and pleasing a herd of wild elk has free range over several square miles of grassland in northwestern oregon these days
to be clear the only trophy i'll preserve are the pixels above
not to be a jerk but no bullets were projectiled today

The only jerk is rickroll for asking a completely inappropriate question considering the thread. Yeah, the pet pictures thread is really the right place to pose a question about killing animals.

i didn't realize elks were your favorite house pets gus, what is your second favorite?

Someone's been triggered... that's always hilariously entertaining

I was pretty surprised to run across a bunch of elk last time I was out your way and drove the coast for the day.

Edit for red:
Oh hey!
I saw elk on the day

Driving the coast for the day.

👍

I used to live in La Grande, Oregon, in the Blue Mountains, and the elk would wander across the meadow behind our property all the time. Absolutely beautiful. I found my horse out with them once 😉 Also had turkeys. One of the coolest things was an old quarry hole (or something -- not really big enough for a quarry) with goldfish living in it. I guess they froze over the winter or hibernated somehow and would reappear each spring.

beautiful country out that way
those are rocky mountain elk east of the cascades
the ones in the coast range are roosevelt

Jared Allen Goat

once during those pre-recorded introductory clips of the starting players lmao on some NFL broadcasts, he said, "Jared Allen, Homeschooled. Thanks, Mom!"

Where's Dom and his Testudinidae collection.

Howard is still down in his burrow bromating...I accept him to be down there for another two months.

We lost our lil guy, Roger yesterday. He was only with us for 3 months, but he was old and sickly and we knew his time would be coming...just not so soon

He found us when me and my GF were on a walk...he was emaciated and had been declawed, so we didn't know how he had survived...so we took him in and man, did he love the indoor life. Rarely left our bed. He demanded to be fed there, like the king he was lol.

RIP buddy...glad we could make your last months comfy and safe.

RIP, Roger. So glad he was able to enjoy his last few months warm and loved with a full belly.

Sorry Dom. Glad you were able to give him a good home.

aww, man. What a bummer. What great comfort he had in his last few months.
RIP Roger

This. I'm sorry your time with him was so short, but I'm so glad his end time was full of comfort and love.

Glad you let him go out in style and comfort. You're the best.

godspeed Roger... thankfully you found a good home before going home.

Wow, thanks Guys...wasn't expecting all that. Just doing what I know all of you would do if able.

I think my GF tricked me...she's been talking about getting a freakin donkey, and I'm like, there is no way we have any room for a donkey in our small back yard, so today she said, fine, we'll get a goat.

A new friend for Howard!

Please name him Jawsh!

It will drive SE crazy!

Id love to get a Donkey... or Goats.

My sister-in-law's Dad has a small herd of pet fallow deer. They're amazing, completely tame and super friendly, especially if you have food.

It's weird them coming up to nuzzle you when I'm used to to them running a mile if you get within 200yards of them. Just got to be a bit careful not to get accidently castrated by the antlers!
