Simplerick has been permabanned for multiple posts stating that all transgender people are mentally ill. The decision to permabanned was based on the context of his remarks, and his mod action history, including that he had a previous account permabanned.

Free Nutella please. And yeah Nutella could definitely be grating and him and I certainly didn't always (or usually) agree but he seemed pretty ok and was a good poster who didn't deserve to be banned. I never understood what happened there.

You're enforcing your world view on the forums. Transgender people are mentally ill and delusional. Or should I say that gender dysphoria is a mental disorder as classified by the DSM-V? What's next, ban the dictionary?...So temp ban me if you must, or just realize that your rules are ideologically motivated and should not be enforced.

I don't know why you keep saying that. Gender is a social construct. That doesn't mean it isn't real. Like most social constructs it is very real and has a very real impact on one's life.

Every idea a person has, every sense of themselves, resides in the brain. If you ask someone to describe themselves, and they say things like I'm honest, trustworthy, married, dependable, rich, poor, etc, those are social constructs. If someone says they are very masculine, or feminine, those are social constructs.
Think of a phrase like "he's a mans man". That's not describing some aspect of maleness that is determined by DNA. It usually is used to describe the characteristics that a particular society expects men to act like. It's about gender roles.
But married, rich, and poor don't have anything to do with someone's brain, those are objective qualities. Honest, trustworthy, dependable, masculine, or feminine do have to do with the brain, but they can all be better judged by others than by an individual claiming to have those traits. I'm sure you think that "trans" is best determined by the individual, but none of these qualities you give are similarly best determined by the individual. I have no sense of being masculine, and I don't even know where others would likely place me in terms of masculinity.
Which one of the following possible answers is more accurate:
A. Race is a biological concept and when europeans enslaved African Americans this was done on the basis of biology.
B. European colonists socially constructed ideas that African Americans were inferior to Europeans to justify enslaving millions of people.
C. Racism isn’t real.
The more you study this the more you realize option b is the reality. That is why no one teaches race science in the west anymore- because it’s not true. But equally dumb is the idea that racism didn’t happen as a result of a european social construction. Furthermore, drawing conclusions from A or C is so incorrect that it leads to garbage in garbage out everytime.
Similarly, Chinese students are not better at math than students from Burundi based on biology. However, Chinese students are better than students from Burundi in math on average. That can be and has been tested. Both of those things are true at the same time.
When you start drawing conclusions based on the “biology” of gender rather than the reality of gender you end up with some really bizarre and terrible conclusions, just like the race scientists of 19th century.
