vgk I have no idea how they are going to make this work financially without getting rid of some active roster guys.
comments regarding the players they received:
mantha - meh. his only contribution in his first game with vgk was getting a double-minor penalty in his first shift. I'm not expecting much from him long-term.
hanifin - obv a good and needed acquisition
hertl - don't like this deal and the fact that vgk is making any deals with the sharks means they are really desperate which concerns me. dude is literally damaged goods & 30 years old. they already have stone & eichel constantly on IR or LTIR and now here's another candidate to be doing the same thing. I'd rather they saved those 1st round picks for a better acquisition and/or at least try to have developed youngster edstrom a bit.

Even though I've been watching hockey since the Stars came to town in the 90s, I haven't really followed the league very closely until the last couple of years. I watch (and bet on) a bunch of games, but I struggle to memorize who's on which team. Can barely keep the names and numbers on the Stars straight, so can't really comment intelligently on the winners and losers.
I will say that it looks like the teams in the Western conference didn't stand pat at the top. Whether those moves translate to a deep run or not will be revealed shortly. Can't wait for the playoffs.
Surprises for me are how good the Panthers and Hurricanes are in the East. Going to be a fun ride over there as well.

Oh yeah I'll be around. These playoffs look like they're going to be craaaaazy. The Western arm's race was impressive.
I think Boston-Toronto or Toronto-Florida round one is going to be full of drama too.
So Oilers played yesterday at 11:00 AM in Buffalo and today at 9:00 AM in Pittsburgh. Weird
Oddly looking forward to watching Coyotes @ Blackhawks. I like to throw a few Dinero on the game for a boost in my interest level. Was surprised to see Coyotes -200/Blackhawks +170. I knew the Blackhawks were bad... but damn. Don't like either team at these prices and I don't trust the Coyotes on the puck line.
So I just threw the Coyotes and Hurricanes together in a parlay and called it good. 
Super fun game. Evidently the over was the play. :p

I was wondering just the other day why this hasn't been tried. It worked, so maybe it becomes a thing.
Because if you lose, you don't get the loser point. Exception: delayed penalty
84.2 Overtime – Regular-season – Extra Attacker - A team shall be allowed to pull its goalkeeper in favor of an additional skater in the overtime period. However, should that team lose the game during the time in which the goalkeeper has been removed, it would forfeit the automatic point gained in the tie at the end of regulation play, except if the goalkeeper has been removed at the call of a delayed penalty against the other team.
