New fast food discussion/review thread

OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Had my first Culver's frozen custard yesterday (Butter Pecan) and it was practically a religious experience. I always thought Freddy's was good but this stuff is next-level amazing.

Door dash 50% off up to $15 multiple orders count. Have had jack squat from them for over a year

Used it for $9 off a gyro combo, theoretically have $6 left. I do pickup for maximum value, Seattle tax negates value otherwise

I'll never have a hot KK. Every time I've seen a KK there's a big line and I can't stand lines. I've had old ones at the place in TI. They were okay, a basic over-sugared glazed donut.

Wendy's $2 double and $1 single has been renewed in the app!!! Good for the next 7 days.

For anyone near an Old Spaghetti Factory... They have a promo called "Meatball Monday". You get two spaghetti and meatball entrees, 2 soup or salads, loaf of sourdough bread, 2 drinks and two spumoni ice creams for dessert all for $25! A fantastic deal imo. This is more than 50% off the normal price. I think it's dine in only.

Don't forget to ask for pesto to dip the bread in...

Back in college daze, OSF would offer $5/meals to ASU students on Sunday nights. Best meal of the week my fresh/soph years.

Oh yeah, that door dash 50% off deal is good three times, for up to $15 off each time. Pretty sick deal, note I do pickup so no extra fees

No Wendy's for me, Sadge

Found a strange new Taco Bell to try out the $2.99 beef nachos, not bad. Also I had Church's today, did my old Popeye's trick of just getting a breast ala carte, only $2.40 or so iirc. It was huge and pretty tasty too. Their sweet biscuits really suck though, cmon Church's. I don't expect HoF biscuits like Popeye's but still.

kioshk, do you have a point of comparison between church's and popeye's biscuits?
either a crowning cathedral or spinach forearm approach would help anchor understanding to how they compare to hardee's/carl's breakfast savories

Pro tip
Wendys dollar singles and two dollar doubles work in airport Wendy's.

Best i can do is a $9 bacon king with small fry. It was quite decadent after a multi month bk break. Cheesey beefy bacony

I grabbed a $2 double for lunch yesterday, easily the most satisfying $2.12 meal I’ve had in a while.

Current Wendy's deal expires on Wednesday... Hopefully renews for another week on Thursday.

Tonight, I'm hitting up Old Spaghetti Factory for another $25 Meatball Monday. 😀

also on a dry spell and fully expecting an animalistic reaction if presented with similar flame grilled patties nestled between two sesame seed buns

The local Wendy's sent some coupons, so I took advantage of free Baconator fries with any purchase (which turned out to be a single).

Too much cheese on the fries. Good idea, just a bit overdone. Still didn't stop me from scarfing them down.

Single was good, as usual. Think I was out the door for $6.51 (w/tax, had water to drink).

omg u r taking me back in time (90s) to late night happy hour, cheap burgers and meeting random weird hot chicks during late night happy hour.

I have not seen an open Bennigans since the early 2000s.

I may have to do a TR for Bennigans - Pakistan

NOT! But I appreciate u bringing up a blast from the past!

I recall eating a Monte Cristo in a dusty Bennigan's in Round Rock, Texas sometime around 2004. I never saw one again after that. Even then it seemed like an anachronism.

Had the Chizza. Expecting a blowout in T-minus ahhhhhh

He must've had an issue while typing it..

Mama Mia! Tutti a tavola a mangiare!

I could never eat that in a restaurant. One of my favorite things used to be going to Vegas, getting drunk/poker/strip clubs, then ordering room service spaghetti. I don't eat anything during the day, to make the alcohol more effective at night. Consequently I'm hungry as hell when the drinking is done. I eat half of it that night and the rest the next day. I usually finished mid-afternoon. 😀

Unfortunately the cheap CET hotels I stay at don't have room service any more. :(

That's why God gave us Uber Eats!!!

I have good memories of a Bennigan's here in San Antonio, right off I-10 in the Colonade. They were still hanging on in 2009 but barely. It had been really nice in the early 90s, kinda yuppie place I never felt comfortable in, but once it got seedy I felt more at ease there. The carpet was so nasty, and the once shiny brass all dull as hell. I remember deluding myself thinking a waitress there liked me some lol. Great place to get drunk and overeat, back when I was into that.

When I first heard the term "fern bar," the image that immediately flashed in my head was the first Bennigan's I had been in some months or years earlier in Atlanta. I always hated it when people at work suggested meeting up at a Bennigan's for drinks after work.

Tom! Noooooo! You got it all wrong man. Bennigan's was the tits go to spot for after work for drinks and food.

1. First job out of college (come to think of it, the only job I ever had where I worked for the man) there was a location about a mile from my house. Convenient.

2. There happy hour prices on drinks were incredible. Pints of beer were like $1.50 and shots were a couple of bucks. Didn't hurt that one of our buddies that chose not to go to college was the manager. Got a bunch of free stuff.

3. In your early 20s, the quantity of food was way more important than the quality, and their portions were huge. Think it was the 1st place I had a Monte Christo sandwich which was awesome.

4. It was also the 1st place I frequented that had electronic trivia. Big bulky plastic monstrosities with manual buttons. You could win free food in their contests they held a couple times a week. My buddy had a degree in history and I handled the math and science. We were both good at pop culture and music. Colluded to dominate, but hey, I'm still on my rookie contract and free food is free food.

5. I may or may not have occasionally dragged something out of there including one of the bartenders.

Good Times!
