Flopzilla
This is the support thread for Flopzilla, which is flop texture analysis software.
Hi Scylla,
I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a possibility to change the colors of filters or at least change the order of the colors in the group output window?
2. The group output window displays hands that are pairs and draws only as draws. Is it possible to change to display them as only pairs? Or the workaround to that is to also display pair+draws as individual hand groups in the statistic?
Thanks

1.
The colours of the preflop groups can be edited by clicking on the "Options" button (see the screenshot below).
The colours of the postflop filters can be edited in the file /config/settings.txt under [ANALYSIS GROUP COLORS]
2.
The statistics will display all made hands on top in blue, the draws below that in green, and the combo draws as purple.
As far as I can see, combo-draws are consistently displayed in the third group.
Are you perhaps referring to a different part of the menu?

Yes, I am referring to the output graph on the right side, where at the top you can select different graphs such as Groups, Eq. graph, Eq. matrix and Hotness. In this group graph pair+draws count only as draws as far as I can see.
Thanks.

You should be able to assign any filter colour to the combo draws.

How about adding this to Flopzilla Pro? (From Flopzilla 1)
Hi Scylla,
Is it possible to copy a filtered postflop range as a string and not just the starting preflop range? Even if I press control I can only visually see the filtered range but the string still shows the unfiltered preflop range. Thanks!

For this, use "Commands->Text output for current range", or press CTRL+ALT+T.
Hello Scylla,
I apologize if this is a question you've answered before, but the thread is very long and a quick search didn't turn up what I was looking for:
I would really like to be able to mass import / export ranges using the `text output` format - that is, a human readable version of the ranges. I cobbled together a script that takes the newdefs2 file in Flopzilla 1 and creates a list of ranges from that (https://github.com/bthallion/flopzilla-r...), but I haven't been able to work out how to create a list of ranges (which I could do programmatically from a number of different sources) and import them into flopzilla.
I know there is the export / import predefined ranges feature, but this uses some kind of cipher that I haven't been able to figure out how to create. If you have tips on how I could create a text block that this feature would accept, or any other way to create a text file that flopzilla would accept, that would be super helpful, I can't be the only one that would like to import many ranges without doing it by hand.
Thank you!!
Ben

For this, you could place the ranges in a directory, with each range being stored separately in a .txt file.
It's also possible to use directories and sub-directories to represent categories and sub-categories.
Then, go to "Settings->Import predef ranges", select "pio/monker/other", click on "IMPORT RANGES" and select the directory with the .txt files in it.
See the screenshot below.
Here is a sample .zip document with some example files/directories:
https://www.crevfiles.com/tmp/import.ran...
That is perfect thanks!
This does raise one more issue, and this one is more of convenience, but is it:
1. Possible to export all of the ranges in Flopzilla2 to a human readable text file or directory, or
2. Generate a newdefs2 file or otherwise import into Flopzilla1 from Flopzilla2
The main reason I ask is I've already gone through the effort of parsing the newdefs2 file and if I can help it I'd like to not do the process again for newdefs3 haha.
Thanks,
Ben

Exporting ranges in human readable text is currently not available, but I'll make a note of it for future releases.

Using Windows 8 (and something similar in Windows 10+)
For Flopzilla Pro: C:\Program Files (x86)\FlopzillaPro\FlopzillaPro\config\prefloprankings.txt
For Flopzilla V1.x there are files in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Flopzilla\Flopzilla\ranges
README.txt acts as the directory for the program and has some instructions
Each range has its own file (e.g. nolimit.txt)
If you wish to modify these files (I would make a backup first), you can open Notepad as an Administrator.

The files that you are referring to are for preflop rankings (these are used by the slider below the starting hand matrix).
The question was regarding predef ranges.
Hi,
These 2 popups overlay. Can you correct that ?
Thanks
hey @scylla,
I have Flopzilla 2 on my desktop and an old laptop. The old laptop I will no longer use. Can I switch the second license to my new laptop or will I need to purchase a new license?
Thanks

OK, so in as few words as possible:
I want to:
- give myself (hero) a specific starting hand, i.e. A♠5♠,
- give 3 or 4 villains ranges, i.e. a tight limper, a loose limper, a coldcaller, and a UTG raiser
- specify a flop of, for example, J♠6♠2♦
- obviously make the 3 cards on the flop "dead cards" that is, impossible for the villains to have, BUT ALSO MY STARTING HAND. In this example, it would be impossible for any villain to actually have the A♠ or 5♠ in their hands
- evaluate not just my equity against each range, but the probability each range could flop different things, i.e. flush draw, pair and flush draw, straight draw etc.
This is what I'm doing to try to make that happen but it doesn't seem to be working:
- click the "Switch to Multiplayer Mode" button
- add 3 ranges and give them different ranges
- for the first range, click A5s then use the suit filter to restrict it to A♠5:spade specifically
- put J♠6♠2♦ on the board
It's at this spot that I'm not sure what to do. The villains' ranges do not appear to be excluding the ace or five of spades, and if I add those two cards to "dead cards" above, it's like I have no cards at all and it can't calculate MY share of the equity.
Hope the question made sense. Thanks in advance.
