"Bro just call w/ AK OOP"
1/3 NLHE 9 handed.
Table is typical loose passive, stacks are not that deep with a lot of people sitting on 150-250. A couple deeper stacks are bleeding down.
V - Just a typical loose passive, never seen him before. 250$ MP.
H - Has been tight and folding. Covers SB.
---
Six limps to H in SB who sees A♠ K♦ and pumps to 30, only V calls, HU OOP.
Flop 65 - Q♥ 6♣ 3♦
With 220 back and SPR of about 3.5, H checks, V looks like he wants to bet but then checks back.
Turn 65 - 9♣
H checks again, V bets 75 eagerly, H folds.
Dealer (who plays regularly himself) looks at H's hand and tells H "Bro just call there OOP"
Thoughts?
lol the dealer's my friend, I dont care if he looks...why does everyone have a stick up their butt on here these days?
Well this thread got annoying fast. Unless you hang out outside the casino, you arent his friend, youre his paycheck.
I dont know if this is true for you, but its just relevant to this statement. Im sure this is an unpopular opinion to state even if people agree, but overly generous tipping is a leak in your game. Im not saying to not be fair with the dealers, im talking about major over tipping. I will see 1/3 good regs tipping $3-5/hand (or $1/hand but then $15-20 tips on a big hand once an hr or so), which is probably a tip sizing that makes them break even players.
It doesn't matter that I agree with you about tipping; but tipping discussion tends to take over, and should be relentlessly quashed when it arises.
Just thought it was an interesting idea though...and maybe more profitable at llsnl. Say you have AK in the blinds and there are ten limps to you, or an open and several callers... bombing pre and whiffing 2/3rds of the time is going to get expensive. OOP you can't realize your equity as easily so you might only see flop. So maybe this is a better idea...take a flop six ways and hope to see K-7-3r and then donk. Could be lower variance at least.

Maybe you should apply for a job as a poker dealer.

This is such a wild misunderstanding of poker at a fundamental level that itd take entire books to explain whats wrong with this thought process.
i think youve posted on here enough to know better than to give the ol dumb “AK is a drawing hand” fish logic.

I wasn't sure if he was serious.

You'll see those guys taking in their massive $40 pots with tptk, or flashing the suited AK before folding the flop in a limped pot. Same guys who limp JJ 6 ways then smile and fold when overcards come out. At least they lost the minimum
Listen to the dealer and just limp/call your entire range, like a lot of people at lowish stakes.

Fixed your post.
I don't know if it is a joke, but I guess it isn't since OP hasn't commented further. These 5-way flops, except for QQ+, you need to give it up on most flops. You can bluff, but usually either when you get it 2 or 3-way preflop or for bigger bets on late streets. With JJ, you miss a lot of flops too. With small pps, maybe 15% of the flops you have something to continue with and maybe 20% with Axs. The money goes in on later streets, and I am fine with putting in like 6xBB preflop and usually folding. Obviously build the pot with premium hands. Maybe a little tighter from the blinds OOP, but at that point it is unlikely anyone else will raise, so you need to build the pot.
i would rather jam your hand pre than complete lol
