do i need to rerun sims when developing an exploitative strategy?

do i need to rerun sims when developing an exploitative strategy?

right now all my sims use gto ranges but say i cut some of my BB bluffs versus SB RFI because SBs RFI range is overly tight. Do i need to run a sim with the hands im no longer bluffing with pre removed

Well tricky question. I think you should put range you think SB thinks you have that will give you best model of SB's strategy therfore best calculation for EV of your range.

So as not to start another thread. If UTG or really any position to act before me is under folding to a 3bet its obvious i would need to remove some of my 0 ev 3bet hands but which ones are best to remove. It seems like 0ev hands containing an ace would be the worst to remove and small pairs and SCs the best to remove but not sure.

Haizembergs response here is correct. It should also be noted that if you are looking at population frequencies, then it is not immediately true that low % = stronger range.

It is also not immediately true that just because they under fold to 3bets you should be tighter.

Concerning your last point is it because they may over fold later in the tree or make some other mistake

That would be one possible reason (and often the main one).

Main factor when you 3bet esp IP in tight positions is how much UTG 4bets and how much other players cold 4bet. Also what range is he opening.

If 4bet is super low you can 3bet indifferent hands even if he over calls, you still 3betting good hands so they have good ev post when you play IP.

discovered something interesting from reviewing from 5nl to 50nl but more predominant at the lowest stakes. When facing a SB rfi BB massively over folds and under 3bets. Not surprising. The surprise is they overfold to 4bets. by about 5 percent

Frequency is a function of sizing and stack depth, so without accounting for those variables you're not really evaluating it correctly.

so i need to put SBs exact open size plus effective stack size ?

.... the 4b sizing matters a lot. Population tends to use much larger 4b sizings than equilibrium especially for the SB vs BB node.

If you run sim for 100bb eff in SB vs BB, then the 3b range for BB is very polarized and around 18-20% 3b. Because it is polarized, the SB also polarizes their 4b range and uses a relatively small sizing. So, when you say something like, "BB folds 5% more than equilibrium" but do not take into account 4b sizing it is a relatively worthless statement.

Also the numbers get small quick. "(NOT (Player is Hero)) AND (Position of Active Player Position of Selected Exactly 8) AND (Position of First Raiser Position of Selected Exactly 9) AND (Sizes Calculated in Big Blinds Preflop Action Faced With Size 2Bet Preflop Between 3 and 3) AND (Folded as First Action) AND (Effective Stack Size Big Blinds Between 100 and 100) My DB has around a million hands but the sample i end up with is 42 hands

... I suggest you take a look a look at some of the hands with your current filter and do some critical thinking.
