Turning Stone Resort·Casino (Verona, NY)
Since it has no Brick and Mortar thread and I am actually going there this week to check it out, here is a Turning Stone thread.
Only smoking rooms available for the weekend of the main event. Gross
Hi JK,
January WPM $460 wil be January 6,7 and 8. again sorry for the delayed response!
Hey thanks for replying Frankie! Any idea how many cash tables you guys will have open max during wsop?
I’m looking forward to the series! Turning Stone does a great job for that series! I wish we could get another circuit event in the fall. It’s a great tournament festival!
Hi Frankie, wondering if you could clear something up about the Circuit schedule.... I see event 2a is March 14, 2b and 2c are the 15th, and 2d is the 16th. Are these all "day one flights", and if so, when is "day two", ie: when all the day one flights combine and play down to a winner. Thank you

All of the structure sheets posted on the wsop website has the date and time for their particular tournament day two. Event 2 merges to Sunday at noon.

Got it, thanks. I checked the WSOP circuit page and did see that you are correct. Also saw that they reserve the right to add a third day to this, if it isn't able to conclude on the Sunday, which sadly kills this trip for me.

It should end on Sunday night like it has the last two years. They play deep into the money on day1s flights, so the returning players were pretty close to 5% of the field left instead of a normal 10-15% bagging etc.
What happen to the free tea along side the free coffee this year at the WSOPc convention center? They had it last year, but now only coffee. They have a suggestion box to ask for it next year?
Looks like they let the coffee run out too and then players have to pay the $3 to get it at the food stands. I hope this is not being done on purpose cause it's a bad look for Turning Stones & WSOP.
Frankie, they told me to complain directly to you about it, but I don't want waste your time. I'm sure you have heard this already. I just hope you guys can improve it for next year like it was in 2023. Thanks

Normally for a corporation , $ profit $ is the priority!!

I asked around while I was up there - apparently whoever was responsible for ordering the tea selection last year forgot to do it for this year. Crazy enough, they didn’t catch that error until the morning of day 1 when they put hot water out but no tea!
Anyway the solution to no teabags is simple: before your flight or during any break, walk two minutes to the casino floor to any of the three free drink stations where they have free tea bags. The friendly people at the concession stands inside of the event center have hot water and will refill you free of charge at any point during your tournament! There’s also several tea options in your room if you are staying onsite - housekeeping is happy to provide you with extra bags if you request them as I did.
Can we also say a huge thank you to Frank, Corry, the entire staff in the TS Poker room, and all of the WSOP crew for being consummate professionals during all of this chaos? The poker room has been an absolute madhouse since 3/13 yet everyone has been incredible, friendly, and diligent. The Turning Stone poker room continues to be without any equal on the east coast thanks to its staff, it’s ambiance, and it’s dedication to top notch poker.
Who’s Corry? The brush? Or ponytail?
Does anyone know how the $1400 Main Event Satellites get paid out?
I was considering playing the upcoming satellite but am just wondering what happens if you are not able to make it to Vegas for the ME.
Do you receive a ticket that must be used for entry into the ME, or cash? Can the ticket be sold/transferred?
What about the travel expenses, is that just paid out $3K in cash?
Thanks
Unless things have changed since last year, you are able to take the entire 13K as a cash payout. This will put you on the hook for taxes, whereas a 10K voucher and 3K in cash will not. The voucher is transferrable.
Please be aware that in order to ensure a safe and comfortable gaming environment, backpacks and other large bags are not allowed on the gaming floor including the Poker Room.
Seriously?
Unfortunately you're gonna see this at more Casino's in response to what occurred at the Hard Rock in Florida. I love a backpack when playing, but I understand.
unless they are also going to ban purses or at least limit size, I don't think banning backpacks will do much
Lot's of ways to sneak something like that into some place
If it is like Hollywood FL, there are times you have to take your luggage through the casino to get to hotel room from check in

People on bus trips to Turning Stone are always rolling their luggage through the casino to get to the bus depot. Wonder how they’re going to deal with that?
@Anton,
There is a pathway adjacent to the casino floor that wraps from the Spa/Pool all the way around to the exit closest to The Lodge/Bus Depot, and bisects the slots area so that families, employees, and people with luggage can access the property without being on the casino floor.
Yeah this rule makes it tough for poker players to carry a bunch of stuff with them, but it’s also not a far walk (less than 5 minutes) from the poker room to the self park garage/lot, and to all hotel rooms on property (less than 3 minutes). It’s inconvenient but it’s not the end of the world.
SEPARATE NOTE:
Pete if you are monitoring this board, you are doing a wonderful job in your new role as captain of the ship - the poker room is clean and friendly as always, the new high hand specials are fun and exciting, and us players appreciate your hands-on approach!
Much continued success!
1.5 hours into day 2 and still 12 away from the money..... after an 11 hour day 1..... in a $400 tournament......that will likely end at 5am......
I appreciate a "good" structure but this is absurd and needs to change.

They’re making a bunch of changes to the next go-round, reducing level lengths and playing to the money on day 1.
