Hatred in poker
Im under the impression that to truly dominate an opponent you must truly hate them

I am a zoom player but I actually disagree. I find I do best against players I respect as , well in general I respect them because they're good, and I assume theyre good enough to make the correct play vs pool and hence I can counter-exploit them for more. I feel hating someone happens because you disrespect them which can cause tilt or entitlement issues and make you play worse. It could also be because you don't understand how they play which in many cases could mean you're being outsmarted.
i think this can be true for sports with physical exertion. get yourself into a ball of rage and maybe you can swing the bat slightly harder, or drive to the hoop against anyone.
for poker, imo, anger only clouds one's judgement.

yea i respect a few of the players for sure and that number is only growing
Why are you like this Billy?
Hatred makes me stronger. Gives me focus
I get maybe hating to lose so you can drive that competitive edge but hating a person may be crossing the line a bit even if its temporary. You should get by just hating losing and using that to fuel your results.
There’s a player in my plo pool who hates me because I called out her and her husband’s collusion. She plays very poorly against me just to try and “get “ me. Playing from emotions isn’t always the best idea.
It was relevant

Well thats clear now that i no it was a quote from star wars people here are funny they like to gang up on other people and use their words as weapons which is interesting seeing as you must not believe in karma

You made a thread about hating people as a means to make more money from them playing poker and now you’re preaching about karma?
No I don't agree with this.
when I started playing I loved everyone, a few times
I had big wins playing 3 way with 2 guys I really liked.
It was just poker. I mean hate is a strong word, and that
might be detrimental to you game.
I have thought for awhile to be a good saleman you have to be
an *******. You really have to sell some amount of stuff to people
who don't really need it. But I'm not a salesman.
No.
If you WANT to humiliate an opponent, or WANT to bankrupt him, you probably don't like the guy, but mere domination only requires a skill advantage.
If I sit down to play with Ivey, and he crushes me, it's because he's better than me. If he goes out of his way to make me feel bad and look stupid, he probably doesn't like me.
