AJs homegame squeeze
Villain is same villain from 444, I haz aces, I haz a boat. I’m getting sick and tired of losing pots to this mfer. This hand happened at 0.50/1 homegame and effective stacks approx 140-150. I’m being pretty nitty as a result of card dead ness. He pulled a wacky stop n go bluff on me with 87sooted earlier in night on a K9598 board where I raised flop and he bet turn and river on me and I kept him honest. So I guess maybe he’s more capable of plays lately (especially when he’s boozing which we are are) than I would have originally thought a few months ago.
Villain opens UTG aka cutoff 4 handed to 3.5. Whaley button calls I quickly reraise to 17.50 w AdJd. FYI 27 bounty is on $5 a piece and this villain got rekt trying to make a play with it earlier then won a large pot shortly with it. He’s in roughly 200-250 but has about 150 start of hand. I chose to size up cuz I felt he’d be kinda sticky to a smaller normal size repop (12-14) and not a huge fan of playing this hand OOP esp versus potentially multi way.
Villain calls pretty quick. Button folds
QhTh6c

Turn Js

Turn seems like a pretty easy call after checking twice. Villain shouldnt have a lot of slow plays on a flop like this.
I can see him checking back KQ even AQ. You’d think villain would snap 4 b AK but honestly in the years playing him I don’t think I’ve ever seen him 4b an AK versus me. I’ve seen him flat my 3B as strong as KK before. He really views me as nitty and doesn’t want to tangle without the nuts pre versus me is how it seems when it comes to 4B/5B.
I was leaning towards call but he seems to have a very high river aggression so I figured there’s like over 50% of rivers I’m not thrilled about calling off with so why would I want to c/c this turn leaving about 1 psb on river OOP? Not thrilled about c/c twice here with pure bluff catcher and allowing him to “play perfectly” tho there is also a decent chance he may fire river as bluff regardless and put me in tough spot
You mention that he shouldn’t have a lot of slowplays but I don’t find it unreasonable to check back a set in his spot if he doesn’t think I’d ever call a bet after checking and wants me to catch up and spike a pair on turn.
Nobody else has any input?
Call turn reevaluate river. You can beat some hands betting for protection and have outs to the nuts.
seems like a bad reason to try to justify calling here IMO. 4 outs (maybe 3 clean) to the nuts getting < 3:1 OOP with no implied odds. can easily get outplayed in this spot with 1PSB left on river. villain has pretty damn good live reads and hero is a tellbox
CR turn small and jam river while gyrating your hips in his face and laughing maniacally.
But for real I would've bet flop and jammed turn. As played I would've done what I said.
Just read the results based on that I'm pretty sure he was bluffing.
