Rec-Bumhunter trying to go pro
Greetings to everyone and thank you in advance for your time.
I used to play poker as a rec, mostly tourneys in private clubs whenever I had time .3 years (!) later I fell in love with the game and cash games specifically. I used to work many hours per day so my volume was pretty low.I was making some money playing 100-200nl avg on private clubs and apps.I thought that there is some potential and joined a regulated site to play.I got crushed really fast. The reason was not that I was so bad as a player(still fish though),but I couldnt control my tilt. I stopped playing and I started reading about the game .I memorised wizzards preflop strategies with small custom simplifications in frequencies, learned some general MDA lines and studied some theory grids in various spots. It has been almost 1 year since I decided to take the game seriously. I reduced my working time to be able to play more poker and keep a balanced (!) life. If I am able to make constant winnings by the end of the summer I will probably go full time.
So I chose GG poker to be the place where I will give my shot.I went straight to 50-100nl rnc and got SWALLOWED by the nitfest and better regs. I used to play in pools full of aggro fish and aggro regs,so my calling button was always hot,a really but habit for this pool. I reviewed my hands and understood that I have to adjust a lot my preflop ranges and general playstyle to a even more aggresive style -overfold friendly.
I dropped stakes and started over from nl 25 rnc. My plan is to play up to 50k hands in each limit and move up if I win.
My study routine for now will be mainly ip srp btn bb.Then hj vs bb .
After 21k hands I was able to beat25NL.I know that the sample is really small but I was feeling really comfortable there and decided to move up to NL50 rnc.
So,atm ://////Stakes :NL50,/////Studying: ip srp early pos. ////Tilt issues :still tilting af
I hope for some advices-guidance from more experienced players.
I will post here my process .
The greatest lessons in life are learned in suffering. You are doing the right thing by trying to grind through it in order to test yourself because staying calm through the chaos is one of the greatest skills a poker player can cultivate.
You also have to be incredibly self aware and honest with yourself while its happening. If in your own words you are super tilted and this causes you to play worse then you need to be able to recognize this and realize that your true EV is probably below 0 because of your emotional state. If that is the case you need to quit and try again another time. Over time and with practice the distance between your A game to super tilt will start to widen.
Judging by your results you are a very good player and once you get better at the emotional side I think you can be very successful in poker. If you want to be a pro then these are the moments we truly get paid for. Our EV is invested and earned by how well we play through the downstreaks and the payoff comes in the inevitable upstreak.

Hello man.Thank you for your reply.I dont know if those results are representing me as a player or I was just in a hot run.For sure there are major issues in my emotional side which destroy my game.Your words help a lot.Do you think asking for help from a psychology expert would help?Best of luck on the tables.
Yes it will help. I'd suggest finding someone that deals with poker or even trading as the psychology needed for those two are unlike any other forms of competition.
yesterdays ses.Still running pretty bad, but my mindset is in a better shape now.
some loosing hands.T9 was vs a nit, thoughts ?I think the 2 hero calls against me are really bad, considering that I do not have history with those players ,both calls are clearly loosing against the pool.In the past ,I used to feel kinda nervous when I was getting hero called, but now I do think it is actually really good.
K6 looks less than optimal. When I peel and whiff equity OTT I'm probably just giving up. Turn onward seems a little spewy to me. Flop is a call for me too
QJ is a fold for me OTR.

QJ should be a fold ,I thought he was going thin and I would take a lot of folds,he should fold his hand btw.But its ok,he is tagged now and I will adjust.
k6 is perfect, there is nothing wrong in this hand, solver is taking the exact same line . I mean ,if you dont bluff this hand in this node what do you bluff?Or you dont?
PUNT!but I did think that he is pretty capped when he X turn.Flop was a mistake .
I just thought that 4h is very relevant nut blocker.
maybe super nitty, but I dont think that the average player on the pool is capable of bluffing here 200 deep.Even if i river a house there is a chance of being dominated
Gonna post graph when I hit 100k hands .Some hands .I kinda felt like a psycho after reviewing my hands .A7ss was kinda risky but I think its fine. The solver prefers 97, A9,a7 has a lower freq ,but I bet top 2 almost always. I am not sure about the EV of plays like that in my pool.At those spots I am massively overbluffing.
Hey, just to say that the video about your hands is now published.
They are all hands from this channel (anonymous).

Subed !Really funny to hear someone commenting my punts!
I just had a good session after a bunch of bad ones. Still experiencing a weird variance. BUT,there is something really important I notice about myself.I remember an article wrote by Stefan Burakov in a russian forum. He was analyzing how important is for someone to feel like a predator when he plays. When I am in a good run my game quality sky rockets. When I sit on the tables I feel like its me and a bunch of fishes, not even caring about the reg on my left who probably has a massive edge against me. I wont give a ***,I will do my best to win until I win. On the other side, when I experience a bad variance I feel weak, like unable to do something to fix things. It makes me scared and not willing to play much or study. The impact psychology has on the games is insane and I believe that if I dont fix my mentality to be stone solid I will never grow as a poker player.
Thoughts?.Yes there are many that I called and lost, but i cant help myself, calling made so much sense.
EDIT: I have just run a solve on GTOW and call is actually a thing.
Probably ,I should have folded this one,V had spicy stats though..Even so,pool is underbluffing hard with this size.
This is a sum up of the hands that I played during the recent downswing.I didnt upload them because I was fighting with myself. I dont think that those hands represent me ,they were all played while being tilted. But ,I am working on my mentality .
Todays played like a fish session

I keep punting instead of taking the most obvious line of folding.I dont think that there is a place for bluffs like this one on NL50.I would bluff 3 combos, those KT with the Kc,I would check AT because he would X back with a lot Ax,hoping to bluffcatch with X-call. I would fold all my TT-AA if I was in his place, 0 bluffs in this node in NL50.
I am going to create a new database and start playing again since I think I could have played way better than this. I have played in a lot of sites but GG poker is probably the softest.I am feeling so nervous not being able to crush it for at least 5-6bb/100. To be honest I think I have lost the most money vs whales than vs regs with their 6% getting there again and again. To conclude ,a huge amount of money is lost by bluffing the wrong people who just dont get it when their hand is indif, another huge amount is lost in calling people who NEVER bluff and the last part went to whales farming me. The more I play there and as my notes increase I will be able to win more.
todays stuff
Once a whale, always a whale.
