Talk About Movies: Part 4
Somehow threads merged, so here's part 4 of our ongoing movie discussion.
Watched Stage Fright last night. It's the famous Hitchcock film that lies in the flashback. That's against the rules. But the film does star Marlene Dietrich and Alaister Sim.
Tonight, I decided to watch Baby Driver again. Edgar Wright makes fun movies.

He was a complete maniac and a lot worse, sad story all around
His daughter however is one of the most enchanting women in the world
Darn, am trying to find a Korean kung fu movie that is incredible well shot and non-stop action a la John Wick, but can't come cross it for the life of me!!! I thought it was The Man from Nowhere, but nope. Anyone can recall what it is called?
Not enough info. There's a bunch of them.
Train to Busan is nonstop action, but it is zombies rather than Kung Fu.
Villainess has a Female protagonist.
Is it the one where the hit man is sent to kill the bosses mistress?
Raid was my first thought, but it's Indonesian.
Nope, not Raid, but thx!

My memory of the narrative is pretty vague, as the storyline is setup a la John Wick where I believe the protagonist's wife is murdered and he goes out on a kung fu revenge spree. It is fairly recent, like early 2000's.
Linoleum Sooooo, my wife and I are scrolling through Hulu looking for a movie and we see a picture of Jim Gaffigan.
The description said something about a host of a children's science show tries to build a rocket ship. I really didn't read much because I don't like knowing too much about a movie before I watch it. I did see it also had Tony Shaloub who is always entertaining. It sounded silly and we love Gaffigan so we figured we would give it a shot.
Well, it wasn't what I imagined it to be. Not even close.
I don't want to give too much away, but it is definitely not a silly comedy.
We enjoyed it but it might not be for everyone.
Nope, but as elite as Old Boy Tbh, after my googling for almost an hour has resulted in zilch, I am starting to doubt the movie even exists!!! Except I clearly remember certain fighting scenes and the camera in the film was so elite, that it had easily entered my top 50 list, even after a single viewing...
Such an amazing scene
Edit : I think I found it : A Bittersweet Life
weird, i never realized old boy was in german until it lacked subtitles and forced me to pay attention 😀
That's the one where he is sent to off his boss's mistress.
Another that I consider similar is A Company Man.
Edit: Yet another I put in that group has the hit-man taxi driver trying to get away from his boss and ends up hijacking a ship. It may be the most violent of the half-dozen. I haven't been able to found its title yet, but will.
I'm having too much fun with this...
