Alcohol-compatible cash games on the Strip

Alcohol-compatible cash games on the Strip

In Vegas for the WSOP with my brother this Summer. We have fond memories many a year ago of playing 1/2, buzzed on $1 margaritas, at the front of what I recall was some kind of Irish bar mixed with a casino.

What are some preferred spots to play low stakes cash games on the Strip with the likelihood of a higher fun/sweatyreg ratio? Thanks

The place was called O'Shea's. It's in a different location at the Linq now.

Also O’Sheas doesn’t have a poker room anymore.

To answer OPs question, I think most here would agree that there is no *reliable* option for the splashy and fun low stakes games of that era. Not to say they are entirely gone, just much more rare. Games that are running late night into early morning are more likely to fit the description, but not really location-specific.

If you’re willing to go downtown, you could try the uncapped games at Golden Nugget. Anecdotally, when I have played there in recent years, the crowd seemed more likely to take part.

Your best bet might be to play at the rooms with the most games running and use the table change option if the atmosphere isn’t what you’re looking for.

Everyone was hammered at O'Shea's it was awesome. These days even in Vegas getting a table full of people to drink is like pulling teeth most of the time. Mega nits sure do love their green tea honey lemon though.

The Strip room I have seen with the most drinking at the table is Mandalay Bay.

Look for one that does NOT have a promo based on how long you sit at a table (looking at you, Horseshoe).

Mandalay Bay, Mgm Grand and sometimes Bellagio, Aria or CP.

Mandalay and MGM actually have cocktails coming by around 3 or 4 times an hour. You won't get that at the big center strip spots, you'll be lucky at one every 45+ at bellagio, etc.

weekend games at venetian are full of drunk people.
