When are you going back to Vegas?

Seems like there should be a thread for people to post when they are going to Vegas, where they are staying, what they plan on doing, who they're going with etc. Usually I just see everyone post in everyone else's threads which kinda derails those threads.

I'm heading back on I think March 20th. Trying to go to NY from March 15th to the 20th and then flying in to Vegas to meet some friends for the March madness weekend and then heading back to the bay area around the 25th. I have rooms at Mandalay Bay and The Gold Coast (comped obv), I'll probably stay at MB while giving the GC room to my friends.

So when are you guys heading back?

When is the last time you went?

I’ve lost the desire that I used to have to go to Vegas. I went the first time back in 1994 and went every year at least once or twice….3 times twice until 2012. Then I went back in 2017 twice and haven’t been back since.

I live in NC and am just as happy going to Cherokee and Caesars Danville will be opening later year so I’ll have less reason to go.

I imagine I’ll go back for a few weeks for the WSOP sometime in the future but not sure when.

Ten years ago. That was also my first and only visit to the US.

You Americans have so many available options for live poker.

I'm going for my first time ever this April, 4/18-4/21.

I made a separate thread on this, but I am hoping to see any WSOP tourism or poker history related things. Is there a hall of fame exhibit at the Horseshoe?

Also I wouldn't mind trying to get an autograph or two of some famous players. Should I hang near Bobby's Room or Aria high roller room?

My plan is to play 2/5 at Resorts World... I don't think I'll have enough time to play any dailys.

The only thing at the shoe is a couple walls of all the past champions. nothing exciting or worth going out of the way for. It is a nice room, but if you're playing 2/5 you're better off at resorts, aria, bellagio or the wynn.

Westgate on 4/21, you can get the Trooper's autograph.

If there's a Vegas Golden Knights home playoff game, you might be able to get a DNegs selfie, but you'll have to be fast to catch him. Play at Aria, and get a seat along the front of the room, because that's on the main drag to the stadium.

I'll be there on Wednesday! Cannot wait.

So jealous!

So jealous!

I check the Sparrow + Wolf tasting menu every day to make sure they haven't taken off anything I love 😉 Dinner there is Thursday night. I'll have pics, and I'll try not to drop my phone into any of the dishes 😉

Going back to Vegas in May. First time since 2019. Cannot believe the hotel room prices. Looking for somewhere near Caesars and best i seem able to find is $200 per night average (inc. tax and resort fees) at the Flamingo for a 10 night stay.

Any tips or tricks to get cheaper rooms? Or if there is a thread about this please point me in the right direction.

Sorry it's so high, but that's making me feel much better about the Hilton Grand timeshare we bought off market 15 years ago. Seems it's actually mort than worth it now 😉

I'm sure someone will have advice on how to get cheaper rooms and/or where to stay.

10 night stay is tough because you have to include weekends, one strategy I used to use was booking a few nights initially and then looking at prices the day of or day before as they reduce prices on some if their reservations aren't full depending on which hotel it is

Yeah, you might have to move around a little. Resort fees are the killer. Since you haven't been in 5 years, unless you play a lot somewhere else, you're going to get bent over.

To reduce the price, join the Caesars Rewards program. Make your reservation online after signing into your rewards account. This saves you 15%. The weekends cost a lot on the strip. Try to stay at an air B and B on the weekend. Eat a few meals at Oceans One at the Miracle Mile to save a few dollars. Do not get your coffee or OJ anywhere except in the poker room where it is free (tip the waitress a buck). Don't buy any newspapers; they cost a lot. Use your rewards card to get a discount at casino stores or better yet go to a CVS , Walgreens, or ABC to get better prices. Your room at a Caesar property will usually have an empty mini fridge. Use it to store water you buy at CVS. The cheapest places to eat are at the Miracle Mile behind Planet Hollywood or at the gimicky restaurants in New York New York. I also like to use my comp dollars to eat at the food court at Caesars (especially Halals).

Does anyone else book trips flying back from other trips? The dog is already booked with his vacation family, so I guess I'm heading back the last week of June. Finalizing the details soon.

You can do the MyVegas and related slot games to get 2 free nights at MGM properties, and if you're going with someone, they can also do the same, and you can combine the reservations at check-in, so you don't need to change rooms. You can also combine it with a paid stay, so make sure to pay for the cheaper days and comp the more expensive days.

6/7-6/12

Host at Sahara comp’d me 5 nights in an Alexandria ultra suite. Not even sure how. I play micro stakes. Granted it’s the Sahara but that room would run north of 2800 for 5 nights.

Fly in Friday night.
Playing the gladiator Saturday flight.

Plan to eat everything.

Recently sober, 75 days today. Will be first sober Vegas trip. God bless all these delicious NA beers they make now.

GF flies in Saturday evening.

Looking for show recommendations. Been to Vegas dozen times and all I’ve managed to do was get blacked out and degen at the tables. Excited to experience the other side of Vegas.

Edit: I assume this will be my last time getting comp’d this well. They even added airport transportation. Trying to milk this for every ounce I can. I should have about $700 free play and $200 food credit already loaded on the card. Unless I pop something big this will be the final curtain.

6/22 anniversary trip, first time staying at the Bellagio. Poker for me slots for the wife. Since I have become cheap in my old age going to dinner at Alder and Birch at The Orleans plus I like their poker room.

good job on the sober. I don't drink in Vegas so yes it can be done. be careful and don't lose your streak.

show recs: what do you like? I think Carrot Top is excellent and Blue Man Group is very enjoyable. for Cirque, I liked Mystère and I hear O is the best of those. Awakening at Wynn is new and should be good. most people seem think Absinthe is amazing. or go on vegas.com and just scroll through that mostly comprehensive list of shows.

Appreciate it.

The gf is really into burlesque and I’m pretty sure we are going to Absinthe.

She’s also a huge Dallas stars fan. Hoping we can make a run at the cup this year for added excitement on the trip. The finals should line up with those dates

How much/how long were you betting?

If table games maybe you lucked out a pit boss fat fingered a zero.

There’s no telling. I hammered slots fairly hard. Hit a few small hand pays.

Not going to ask any questions and just roll with it.

Heading in from 5/29-6/2 right at the start of the series for my first WSOP trip in quite awhile. Planning on playing some of the daily deepstacks and possibly trying to satellite into the Mystery Millions, along with maybe a couple events at the Aria or Venetian. Split between 2 free nights at MGM and 2 nights with points at the Candlewood Suites across the road. Looking forward to it, solo trips are hard to come by these days!
