N333mo's poker blog - quit my high paying finance job to get rekt in NL25z

Hi readers!

I have finally at 26 years old decided to quit my corporate job and give myself a shot in the highly competitive and interesting world of online poker. I am not exactly sure how I will structure the blog and how regularly I'll be posting, but for me this blog serves a purpose of being accountable in my poker progress and not getting sidelined along the way. And of course, maybe I will find some friends along the way who share the journey and with whom to discuss hands/strategy etc.
As for now, I am beginning to get myself acquainted with basic strategy in various situations, opening ranges and so on. I've been starting to grind it out at nl25z in Pokerstars with following results so far:

My goal for this year is to move through the stakes to NL100z and try to keep up with the regulars there. I expect to achieve this through regular study and playing sessions and staying consistent. I am not sure about the winrates in zoom, however for now I will set myself a goal of having bb/100 exceed 6 for the last 50k hands to move up the limit.

Best of luck! You said you are getting acquainted with basic strategy still, does that mean you are still relatively new to poker?

Hello!

Long time no post. Just as a way of update, I visited my friend in San Francisco for two weeks to catch up and get some live poker hours in. After some research I decided to go play in Lucky Chances Casino and I must say I enjoyed it quite a bit - friendly people, many familiar faces after a few visits already and I just liked being out there. The results down below:

Albeit the quick detour to live poker, I will be focusing on online poker and getting better at the game. For the time being, I will aim to update the blog once every 1-2 weeks!

Hey, thanks! Not necessarily, I've been into poker for quite some years but simply as a form of enterntainment, which I think has not contributed too much to actually learning much about the dos and donts on different boards, bet sizings, how to play vs various opponent types etc.

Good luck bro. Post your stats.

As a way of update, posting my results from May:

My main way of learning currently is using GTOwizard for hand reviews and drills + discussion with friends. However, I would be super happy if there are likeminded people who have study groups where hands + general strategy is discussed. Not super happy with the volume I've put in, but I will improve that.
