Poker sites ordered to pay back player losses (400k) in the Netherlands
If they operated illegally then who cares if they have to pay back money lost by some people.
Infact if these things happened alot more poker/casino sites might act a little bit better in general towards customers.
Don't do illegal things if you can't pay the price.

So if you live in the Netherlands you can put a bunch of money online and gamble it. If you win great if you lose you get your money back
The fact that certain laws protect employees well is only a good thing and many other countries can follow an example! And I say that as an employer. As for the case against pokerstars, that's just ridiculous.
Yep, not saying it's a bad thing. Just that Dutch law can be surprising.
In a similar case over here, the judge ruled in favor of Bwin (95K) and plaintiff was ordered to pay 5.5K legal costs.
Same lawyer in both cases.
If you are operating in the gray, YOU MUST PAY!

To be fair, Stars is under different ownership so all of the things you mentioned have zero relevance to karma.
