Running Aces (Columbus, MN)

Do any of our fellow Minnesotans know definitively when poker will start at the new Running Aces Card Club in MN?
I know the horse races start Friday April 11th but will the poker start then too? I read something about how they had to have 50 race days finished before the card room could legally open but they were going to petition the Legislature to change this and allow the poker games to start right away when they open on April 11th.
Anyone hear anything or have reliable info on this?
Thanks

I'm definitely looking forward to playing at the new club.

What is the news on RA running survivor tournaments?

Does Running Aces now change the cards when a player ask for a new set-up?

I have not played at Running Aces since they denied my request for a new set-up. I asked for the change when I spotted a marked card. Neither the dealer nor the floor could see the mark. The player in the 8th seat asked to inspect the card. He said that he could not see the crease but he feel it. That is when I asked for the new setup. The dealer responded "It will slow the game down."

I made a complaint to the Minnesota Racing Commission who oversee and regulate the poker room. I was told by the investigator that Running Aces is well within its rights to deny the request. The investigator said that it was ok for Running Aces to use with marked cards. I then complained to the Governor's office without resolution.

Since this occurrence, I learned the better way to have handled this incident was to call 911 for a Minnesota State Trooper. I have also though ordering the messiest thing on the menu and don't use napkins.

Set ups certainly do slow the game down, but what is point of even playing if there is no integrity? Easy to say this . . but how about just tearing the card in half next time? ( I see why this place is second rate)

I've seen Canterbury dealer's request a new card frequently, and that is without even being prompted by a player. . They just pay enough attention to detail there. Guess what? It never slows the game down. Simple to just request a single card be replaced from the "red" deck for instance, they just keep dealing with the "blue" deck until the floor brings the replacement card.

A single card replacement would have been acceptable as well. It's the fact that Running Ace AND the Minnesota Racing Commission were not interested in the game's integrity.

Has there been any change to RA’s rake? Canterbury went to a 5+2 max (ugh)
on 5/1

RA went from $4+2 to $5+2 back in October.

They also raised the max buy-in on $2-$100 from $300 to $500 about the same time, and that seems to have loosened & softened the games up quite a bit.

It could be also be just a couple months of run good for me too though.

I see individual cards get replaced at RA all the time. The bravos beat the hell out of the cards and that's typically culprit. Rumor a year ago was they were going to switch to poker atlas and get new machines to help, but that apparently didn't happen.

The only time I remember seeing a full set-up done there was after we had 3-4 individual cards swapped out in one down. I want to say they swapped out the shuffler at the same time too, but it's been so long I can't say for sure.

I still can't figure out how a cap on the buyin for a limit game makes any sense.

Was in MN for work and decided to check this place out. What a degenerate dump. Players were friendly but damn, felt worse than a home game. Yikes.

Should have went to Canterbury. The tables and chips at RA are trash.
