OP:

Set to open Jan 1, 2017 with over 350 luxury rooms, an 18 hole golf course, 2100+ slots, 61 or 102 (depending on the source) table games, and a poker room plus more. Set to be on par with a 5star 5diamond venue, already rated at 4star 4diamond.

Part of a 3 casino build in upstate New York, Montreign is supposedly 90 mins from NYC - my gps says 2hr 58min.

Does anyone have any information on the poker room size, variety, quality?

Looking at their build site progress camera on their website I have no idea how they expect to be open on schedule.

As an avid visitor of Atlantic City, NJ I am honestly looking to make this my go to destination for live poker over the Borgata and Harrahs.

I believe they can steal a lot of business from AC's day and weekend trippers as long as they do it right.

If anyone has more in depth information please share it here and let's make this the dedicated thread for this venue as the opening date nears!

What is everyone's opinion on the splash pot promotion?

I thought it was something different, which is welcome.

I like the fact that the $75 (or $150) stays on the table.

Good to see a lot of 2 day tourneys coming up.

They tried a lot of different promos, thinking out of the box for a while, seems like Resorts is going back to old faithfuls.

I hate it and the consensus is the same out of everyone I speak to. (Unscientific sample size, but I talk to strangers a lot.) Dealers hate it because people are less likely to tip on a splash pot that they won as opposed to a high hand that they won.

The only advantage it has over the high hand is that the money is guaranteed to stay in play.

I asked about this in the Mohegan Sun thread, too:

What are the lowest cash game stakes that run here and what are the highest that run at least somewhat frequently?

Thanks

1/3 runs every day, 2/5 pretty much runs every day, sometimes 2 games on the weekend.

I think I have seen a 5/5 run a couple of times.

2/2 PLO sometimes runs on the weekend, sometimes not.

there is usually a 4/8 limit game during $400 HH giveaways

Not bad. Thank you

does the 5/5 plo just go Fridays for the most part?

Would anyone here happen to know if there's indoor parking?

Yes, when you turn into the casino from the long entrance road, make a left at the stop sign and follow it around to the back right into the garage. The garage is actually below the casino, and the poker room is right outside the parking garage elevators on the 2nd floor above the parking levels.

by Playbig2000 k

Yes,

Thank you. Would you trust parking a relatively cheap motorcycle there for a day or 2?

I would trust a motorcycle there.

The only riff raff in the parking lot is usually the pot smokers. They don't bother anyone.

Playing there this weekend?

Any cheap & semi clean hotels nearby? I doubt the casino comps rooms to micro grinder such as myself. I never been there yet but would be willing to check it out over a weekend just don’t feel it’s close enough to be worth a day trip. Just don’t wanna use a crappy motel that will give me bed bug bites ugh

I kept my whip there several times and never had an issue. I would just park it on the top floor in a spot near the elevator.

Thanks Eldrick and Playbig. I'm planning for the summer.

Catskill bros, what is this?

Was there a tournament going on?

I don't know--I wasn't there, but I've never seen anything like that on Bravo before.

It looks like an alternate list for a tournament.

Looks like yesterday was day 1A of a multi flight tournament with 97 entries. Definitely alternates for that.

Only 77 entries today, oddly enough.

100% this, can confirm.

Yeah I found this a bit odd as well but seeing Friday's flight was a 10:15am start time on a work day vs Thursday's beginning at 6:15pm I think that was the reason. If it were a bigger room/larger guarantee perhaps it would be different.

Same situation here & I usually opt for an Airbnb. There aren't too many choices but I've found a few that are my go-to spots that are in the $80-125/night range minus tax but w/ no cleaning fees. All of them are 15-20 minute away max but about half are right in Monticello. Two of them are run by hosts named Hyacinth & Genesis, both are nice, clean & safe spots. Genesis' has a property with 3 small private "cabins" (not in the woods though) that have full kitchens which is convenient seeing RW has awful food options outside of the Mexican spot or steakhouse.

It is annoying that the Catskills property isn't connected to the LV property's comps..

Does anyone know if the 2/5 here is still a must move game

I believe it is, but that said, they aren’t really getting multiple 2/5 games unless it’s Friday-Sunday.

2/5 is not currently a must move game
