In my situaution i think i got the comp weekday rooms because i did a $1,500 bet on the mgm app then when it hit i let $3k ride on a 2 leg parlay. That was about a month ago
Doubt it. I haven't been able to place real bets on their app in several years but before I was limited to dust I never got any room offers from it.
Besides that havent stepped in borgata who knows when. Thats the only thing i can think of
Im lying i played a tiny amount of slots at yonkers
I’m gonna dump $1K in a slot machine and if that doesn’t get it done I’m gonna try and get a host to hook it up. Why won’t borgata gimme shelter :(

Let me know how that goes. I just found out that a relative is buying a summer house not far from AC, so I'll have a launchpad to play at Borg again, and maybe violate my rule of never giving MGM a dime again.
Room is more crowded then usual rn cuz of tourney time
I’m here for the first time post-Covid. This place is a shell of what it once was. Just weird how many restaurants are closed, etc.
And worst of all is the awful music that is blaring everywhere. At least in Vegas they are playing some relatively benign current ish top 40 with a beat. The music here is all shitty cover versions of 80’s hits. It’s like someone at MGM is sitting in an office somewhere googling “things New Jersey boomers like” and then paying their cousin’s son’s band to record versions of it on the cheap. Just brutal. The most recent example as I went on a 6 am odyssey to find something open was Adam Ant’s Goody Two Shoes. Except not by Adam Ant. More like a bad wedding band version.
Tournament seems to be running decently well, although I had the absolute worst dealer in my life yesterday. Guy in his 60’s with some form of degenerative motor skills issue. COULD NOT deal cards cleanly; took 2 mins to riffle, shuffle. Not exaggerating we played 8 hands in a half hour. Not fair to a tournament table.

Was his name Moses and was he also falling asleep?
You know it's hard times for MGM when you see a frigging gas station hot dog roller in their downstairs VIP lounge. I couldn't stop laughing when I came across it tonight.
430 in the seniors tournament still 35 minutes for rebuys late entries
You don't go to the Amphora Lounge for the food, you go for the drinks (though the food is pretty good). If you want to focus on food, go the normal buffet for the same cost off your comp.
They’ve only had that for as long as I’ve been going downstairs to amphora, and that’s 16 years already.
Wow that's crazy. It was obviously my 1st time there. Just something I wasn't expecting to see. Brought back memories of growing up poor.

The food was good another then maybe the shrimp.
Oh, I didn't know that. I could have just used the same 12.50 points to get any buffet comped?
I used to get monthly buffet comps on my card before covid, but never see them anymore.

legend has it that a super rich dude in 05 who shipped it quite often wanted one and here we are 20 years later still with it

The shrimp and other sea food items are much better at the main buffet then the basement gambler's buffet. The only thing it's good for is if you wanna go there for a few drinks with food options, but if you're goal is just to eat the main buffet is a few dollars more in points but it's worth it, and if you drink you can start ordering a few drinks before you cash out before you even go to eat.
When they had the brisket downstairs it was one of the best briskets I've ever had. I would load up on that and Macallan first, then attack the rest. The first sign of the place going downhill was when the brisket disappeared. That escalator ride used to make me so happy.

Food quality in the buffet and amphora is way down from pre mgm days. It's still decent but the days of me looking forward to it are long gone.
I had a burger at American bar and grille, and it was good
