KAT to play <10:00 first half and <20:00 total due to foul trouble

i am nostradamus

It’s kind of funny how Tim Connelly drafted Jokic, built the Nuggets AND went to Timberwolves and from day 1 purposefully built them to BEAT the Nuggets.

I don’t care that wolves/nuggets is over already since it’s just a battle to see who gets to get pwned by the thunders

by NotReddBoiler k

The refs were not going to let the Knicks lose that game

I was a neutral and couldn’t believe how many calls the Knicks got. That was gross.

brunson is the new harden, tough guy to officiate

actually thought he got hit a few more times on drives

(not that Indy didnt get totally screwed overall, they did...Turner call was all time bad)

Officiating isn’t perfect. They’re humans.

Each team benefits from time to time from favorable officiating.

Holy ****. It’s Monday night and Denver/Minny don’t play again til Friday!!!

Cmon Mclovin, I love ya man and your passion for the Knicks no matter what year but that was a job by the refs.

Not just variance or however you want to put it, there were 3 BS calls in the LAST TWO MINUTES. As someone mentioned, they were not letting NY lose that game.

Btw, that Toppin dunk was an all-time great playoff dunk. I laughed so hard, I mean it was so ****ing unexpected. The dunk a few minutes later in Robinsons grill was icey too. Pacers came to play. Knicks played well tho.

Sorry for caps, but the emphasis was needed.

Denver really needs that long break. That's very fortunate for them. Ridiculous scheduling tho

VVega,

Happens to every team once in a while.

We all know Tim Donaghy did NOT act alone.

One final note.. there was a study done that referees are actually slightly partial to the home team. It's even baked into the homecourt advantage. So yeah, just another day in the NBA playoffs.

And don't be surprised if the Pacers get a favorable whistle in Indiana.

brunson couldve stumbled unguarded in the backcourt and refs wouldve called a foul. if nothing else it exhausts pacer challenges, which they needed 20 of that game. but thats what happens when 20,000 angry bloodlusting new yorkers are screaming at you. there was a 1/5,000 chance that any given fan at msg couldve legit murdered a ref on live tv if they didnt call all the fouls. that is a reverse negative freeroll no ref wants to chance -- only a 2% chance of fading death. thats the beauty of home court advantage, live sports, human psychology, and riggage.

Best part about the Turner screen is that immediately before, on the "kicked ball" play Divincenzo sets a whopper of a screen around 25 seconds in this clip.

Knicks fan here. BING BONG BITCHES!

The foul on the Turner screen was atrocious. There are moving screens on every play in the NBA. BUT they also called so many ticks tack off the ball fouls against the Knicks in that 4th quarter while letting Brunson get mugged. I'm a let them play guy. So I'm not whining about Brunson not getting calls, it's playoff basketball! But they called a lot of dumb **** at the other end that didn't need to be called and then the screen was just stupid. Every screen in the NBA is an illegal screen by the letter of the law.

Also, I hate that a foul before the ball is inbounded is a shot and the ball. Guys are fast in the NBA, guys foul. I know why the rule was put in place to combat the Hack-a-Shaq, Hack-a-Dwight, but do something like a 3 second runoff OR the fouled team gets to pick their foul shooter. It's dumb making a 1 possession game a 2 possession game bc a guy unintentionally fouled someone and gives the refs more power and influence over the game which the NBA needs way less of

bingbong yeah

Not really a study. They just looked at data from the bubble year and it was obvious. The crowd has huge impact on referring iirc it was like 3 pts/g

Common calls like fouls are challengeable but rare events like kick ball is not. The NBAs approach to replays and challenges are a joke. They should try studying other sports that do it a lot better and more efficiently (like cricket)

Windy said wouldnt be surprised if murray got suspended for tossing the ice on the court

that would almost all but end the nuggets season so i doubt it, but if it was regular season game almost positive he gets suspended

obviously helps he isnt like dray, pat ev, isiah stewart, grayson allen

I’m referring to the Oxford study from 1997.

Someone could’ve seriously got hurt and it’s a total WTF what are you even doing???

He should get suspended a game but he won’t.

My mistake. It wasn’t Oxford 2007 but Harvard 2017.

Gobert wins DPOY. Kinda funny he wins it after TWolves play one of the best defensive playoff games OAT *without him* last night lol.

Wemby by basically nearly all of the metrics was the true DPOY but hey why not give it to Gobert one last time before Wemby wins the next 10 in a row anyway.

DARKO DPM and LEBRON still have Gobert #1 defender. Dunks and 3s EPM have Wemby > Gobert but they have Marcus Smart and OG over both

Obviously Box Score/stocks Wemby is >>>> but that's never really been Gobert's jam. And then there's just the hand-wavy 'best defender on best defense' part.

Think Gobert probably still a bit ahead at this point overall. But yea obviously not for long. Wonder how many in a row he will actually win haha. Going to be funny watching people try to come up with arguments for some wing defender because they don't want to give it to him for a 6th time or something

Swap Gobert with Wemby!

Wolves still have the best defense.
Spurs have the same crappy defense as a team overall.

Prove me wrong!

----------

If Knicks get #1 seed in East next year I could see OG getting *some* votes but if Wemby plays enough games... it's probably just his award.

Real talk:

Is Tatum even better than Jaylen Brown?

I say no. Brown is a better defender who plays within the flow of the offense and doesn't do stupid hero ball KEBO 0.5 version stuff.
