NBA 2024-25 Season Thread
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
LOL Knicks
Real bold prediction: Denver wins the series. But I don't think that's actually bold. People seem to forget Denver just won last year and are really good.
No I don't think it's really bold and would give Denver rationally a good 30-35% of doing so, but my intuition says they just might pull it off... But if we were to poll this thread, I don't think we would reach that 30-35% though...
if Pacers win this series then even as a Celts fan, I probably have to root for them to get to the finals
sorry but the idea of the Pacers in the finals like a week before the nba finalizes a 77B/11yr TV package is too hard to pass up
yeah no chance the association lets the pacers win this series, they've been very clear about that. the celtics will obv smoke them
hopefully the nugz or thunder ship tho

They are like 75% to win the series, people forget how **** MN sports teams are, if they ever look good it's just to crush your hopes the next game
They'll lose today by 20 and then it's all over
the wolves starting the 2nd Q with 3 backups and conley/mcdaniel while their 3 best players sit on the bench to be outscored by 10 in 2 1/2 non-jokic minutes was really something else
i get everyone associated with this league is generationally rich now but that isnt even trying to win
You know how the saying goes, right : a series does not start until the road team loses 😉
Over for the Wolves.
Denver has figured them out.
They will win this one and the next two.

The Nuggets would repeat the Raptors 2019 sweep of losing the first 2 games (on the road though) vs the Bucks, only to win the next 4. What is that sweep called? I thought it was the douchebag sweep, but that would be losing the first game, before sweeping the adversary, right...
down goes the twin cities' twin towers uh2ci
Denver won’t lose any game they shoot this well in
MPJ with 35 mins of light cardio

tough losing by 8 exactly when you did this
HAWKS get the number 1 pick!!!
Is there even a consensus number 1 yet?
I’ve read this is a historically weak draft… figures.
My casual relationship as a fan of the Hawks has been damaged over the years, notably because of Marvin Williams over Chris Paul, and trading Luka for Trae. Still haven’t forgiven the franchise for those transgressions… and probably never will.
So no matter who they take, I’ll probably be disappointed.
Historically, the number 1 overall pick has almost a 50/50 shot of being a Hall of Famer.
This could be a HUUUUGE get for the organization.
Hopefully they can build around the new guy they get, and make it more his team rather than joining Trae’s team.
#1 is some french wing bro
how good he is probably decides how good the picks are that ATL has to send to SA for murray, kinda interesting a fellow frenchman will determine wemby future supporting cast so much
I know nothing about college basketball
But usually during the year you naturally hear the name of prospects.
Which signals to me why it's considered a weak draft..
I can't name a single player in this year.
No idea who's going top 5.
everyone said this draft sucks, and i didn't really believe because ppl say that like half the time, but now i see that klingon guy from uconn is supposedly one of the top prospects, and uhhh yeah they might be on to something this time

4-5 guys could all go #1. Hawks should trade down to #4 with the Spurs, get a pick back and since NBA GMs suck at drafting they probably still get the best player in the draft at #4 lol.
Every longtime Knicks fan (you should have renounced them in 2013 like I did) knows in their hearts how this is going to go. Not just losing the series to Indiana (who are now officially the favorites), but the chain of events after that.
Dolan will panic because of failing to meet expectations (which would be getting swept by Boston) and intervene. Rather than addressing the actual issues (depth, coach, time), he’ll force some awful trade to win “now”, gutting the core. Or maybe they’ll draft Bron Jr. and then sign LeBron (Dolan LOVES big names on the decline), which will be a complete train wreck in the locker room.
They won’t make the playoffs again for another decade. If you’re lucky they’ll get swept in the first round next year.
Pathetic franchise and the GOAT owner Dolan will not disappoint.
^^^ Knicks are down not only an allnba foward but they're 6th man, Bojqn.. mitchell robinson possibly the best backup center in league and og annunoby. To think people are as stupid as you say isn't reality. Nobody cares that much as knicks fans if we lose we are excited for next season and know that with og mitch and bojan healthy that we are without a doubt the superior team than Indiana. Those guys plus julius back next season we should be a top 4 finals contender and top 2 contender if we can get mikal. Knicks just are one of best teams in the league and their core is built to be that way for foreseeable future. Like saying, we are just one of the elite teams in the nba right now and tock8ng more towards the upside next season than possibly any other team with an all nba foward coming back plus plenty of draft capital yo help. Not really a way around this.
reading OG hasn't started running yet, seems done for series
What attainable player makes the most sense for the Thunder?
I think it’s Lauri. And then just get a big. Any big. Any big will do. For depth.
He's not worth it. They'll have one year of surplus value on his contract and then he gets maxed next summer. He really should be traded this summer to a team with limited flexibility who is desperate. His value is the contract and the Jazz aren't going anywhere next year.
