Trooper97 vlogs, discussions etc. will be allowed to continue in the new thread. That thread will not be unchained and I will work with the other LVL mods to keep it civil.

I personally am not going to allow a lot of the horrible posting that went on in the original thread to take place and I will be very generous with post deletions and bans if needed.

Posts the are overly derogatory, mean spirited, name calling (including using rude derivatives of names) , and demeaning posts towards any of the vloggers or posters in the thread will be deleted at the mods discretion. If any accounts persistently do this they will be banned or exiled from posting in this thread. In these cases we may issue a warning first.

Accounts that are used only to or substantially to troll post in this thread will be banned.

No personal family information or situations allowed in the thread.

OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

How much did he make playing poker instead of sitting in a chair that happened to be at a poker table?

He actually had a sold week which isn’t shocking because he ventured away from the Horseshoe and Westgate. All of his profit from playing came from Bellagio and Red Rock, even though those sessions were only 25% of his hours for the week. He finished +$854 at those 2 rooms and -$168 at the promo rooms.

Big Game is back. one show a week. it was a pretty good start.

Spoiler
Show

Phil Helmuth folds the whole time, Alan Keating punts off about $200k in 30 hands

Agreed pretty good first episode, looking forward to more episodes for sure.

Lex running pure, man people are just handing him money whenever he makes a good hand.

This and also its obvious he had a winning week/challenge when he finally chooses to give us fresh results and not the usual blabbering about how he was sunrunning at Council Bluffs 8 years ago.

Exactly. If he lost he would be telling us how much he spent on laundry and funny things said at the table that he naturally understood before anyone else .

I wish every young 1-2/1-3 player that moves to Vegas to make a living off poker would watch his videos. Im tired of watching these players invest so much time in something thats not doable. To go to these extremes to avoid “the man” and make $6/hour or worse is sad.

It should be educational to your target audience to watch these videos; if they still also need a practical education as well, so what ?

They are "young", no better time to learn life lessons.

A young person who plays professionally for any limit of time, especially moving to another place like Vegas to make it -

will most likely end up significantly worse place in life than not pursuing the matter all together.

Think about it. Low % of actual success, high % of just being stuck as a degen, and % of going busto quickly enough to get back onto the job market be4 it's too late.

I know a few people, mid 30s, busto playing 2-5. Back on job market entry level I assume.

Rice will ignore his good results at Bellagio and Red Rock, and continue to chase the 'promo' money at Horseshoe and MGM.

Yep he had a robust $4.61 hourly (after rakeback/freeroll) at the promo rooms playing extremely low variance poker. That’s his bread and butter. Why risk an entire buy in at the Bellagio, Wynn or Red Rock?

Assuming someone is a profitable player, poker is best as a second job. Put in your 40 hours at your 9-5 and get your benefits and all the security that comes with a “normal job”. You can then put in your 5 to 25 hours or whatever each week outside these 40 hours. People focus on not having a boss as a main perk for playing poker but it’s stressful knowing you have to win in order to pay the rent and buy food.

Playing poker as a living is one of the worst jobs in the world.

Just look at the ones that actually make money, I would say 98% look like Deisel.

The ones that appear successful, maybe 2% of players are actually successful, the rest are trust fund kids that cosplay as a professional poker player but are break even to losing players living off their parents money.

People who are actually winning gamblers very rarely do things like make vlogs

How young/old is Tropper?

Does he qualify for the Seniors event this year?

The 10 to 30 hours a week producing vlogs could be spent playing or working for the Man.

You only have to be 50, he passed that years ago.

It's a hard justification to start a poker vlog if you're winning player. Opportunity cost won't allow you to do it.

Imagine spending 4 hrs for $20 in yt ad rev.

Someone forgot to tell Rice.

It only took him 6 months to get his channel monetized and then another 6 short months later he was celebrating clawing back the money he outlaid for his vlogging camera.

It should come as no surprise. After all we are talking about someone who retains a hot dog receipt in mint condition for 5 years. He could be Allen Kessler's love child, they have a very similar playing style. In fact Rice might be even more of a nit than Allen.

It's hilarious these types at the Westgate. You have the Trooper, although only on Thursdays. But then you have Rice, Pman and also TBC. Would love to see them all at the same table. Rice deliberately avoided Trooper's game this last Thursday due to wanting to bum hunt the pool tournament players.

Westgate hosts the poker world's version of the Wack Pack.

Pays 36 spots, everyone $200. That is why he was pissed because there was 36 and it would have been over with $200 paid out, but the late guy barely made it in time to make it 37 and they had to do hand for hand until 36.

Can you imagine what that "game" is like? You have 37 Diesel-esque players all folding every single hand waiting for 1 guy to bust. Probably need an AA vs KK cooler to lose a player. Might take a few levels for 1 person to bust LOL.

Alright, so what do we think will become the vlogger highlights this summer? I hope Ashley Sleeth will be vlogging again during the series, think her content is a breath of fresh air in the space but she havent been releasing a new video in more than 8 months or so.

Also i guess we can have a possible carcrash waiting to happen when Diesel eventually cant handle being told he is not correct by his boss ,or blowing up after getting heat from grumpy players.

Rice was so proud of himself in his latest video for sneaking in a pocket sandwich and pocket condiments into a movie at Red Rock. Like he says; no one is better than him at sneaking in food, this isn't the Minor Leagues!

Rice snuck in a sandwich and his pocket mayo into a theater where they don't care if you bring in food. Could you imagine a whale buying a sub at the Red Rock food court and then getting static for walking into the theater with it?

Whoa whoa whoa back it up- how did he get the movie ticket in the first place?
