Have you even seen the squad? He's already shown that he's finally willing to drop his stalwarts.

Well I posted it, so the answer would be yes.

Maguire is still there, as is Shaw. The others (Henderson, Phillips etc) were pretty much unpickable.

poch sacked. lolsea.

Bad choice imo. They had their **** together by the end of the season.

Injuries basically ****ed their season. Harsh imo

Very harsh, and the owner refusing to shoulder responsibility for the time and money invested in Mudryk for one says a lot about him.

Good luck to the next one there.

62 million? seems a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things. no one else was worth playing on the lw for most of the season anyway. if it actually went up to the misquoted amount i dont think chelsea would care. do you think real madrid will care that they might have to send another 5 million check to chelsea for hazard if they win the ucl this year?

Enough to tip them over the edge and into breach of financial regulations and have them scurrying around their property portfolio for something to sell to themselves, a trick they might not be able to repeat indefinitely.

Absolute morons

yeah i dont see how this turns out well..

the rumor was he wanted more input in signings and departures and one of the sticking points was gallagher.

otoh they did manage to sell serial non-achiever Mount for 55M.

Chelsea were actually really good at times this year and were a proper striker, a full back, and Caicedo becoming good away from a real run imo.

People mocked them a lot for results but they were miles better than their first half of season and better than us/Villa too imo

Tactically much better than both. Villa have shades of title-winning Leicester about them and will need to buy better players to avoid getting found out imo.

lol london clubs

Poch finally sacked

Rejoice

Rashford and Sterling are the point I'm making. His stalwarts. Considered to have plenty of credit in the bank.
No effing around this time. You're not performing. You're out.

Right, but there is a difference between out of form players being picked because of supposed big tournament mentality and out of form and in terminal decline players (Sterling, Rashford while he stays at ManU).

Though there probably is something in what you're saying too. Southgate to ManU may be playing a part too if there's any truth in it. Robson abandoned his cageyness in what he knew was his last tournament in '90 and almost went all the way. That's the problem with England managers - the bar has been set so low for so long that historically they've known that making the QF will probably keep them in the job so have tended towards cageyness.

Yes + injury luck.

Maybe I'm giving too much credit to the front-office but no way this is one of those "results are not good enough, let's get a new manager bump" sacking else they'd have reacted at half the season not after 5 good wins in a row.

Sounds like they must have disagreed on the way forward.

Anyway, stupid as ****, I hope they did not give him a 7 year contract too

Shall we do a Euros sweepstake if there's enough interest? Payouts for 1st/2nd and worst team so if you get England you still have a chance of winning something 😉

Stakes? I'm in for up to £100.

Are Chelsea really going for the Ipswich Town fella ? When we went for Rodgers at least he had a midtable finish in the top tier.

Lol

Seems a bad fit. Obviously a decent manager, but pretty combustible.

With Chelsea's set-up, they clearly just need someone to come in a coach the players for a year or two and have little/no input into transfers in or out, and that isn't De Zerbi.

Good that they’ve got rid to nip their resurgence in the bud.
