I gotta ask. Why was this allowed to go on for so long? These racist posts by these posters are not a new thing. Did the other mods not care or they weren’t aware? What has changed?

Who knows, PW. I'm just a silly girl living in a Barbie world.

by rafiki m

In the I/P thread, provided you were pro Palestinian, you could say "Pakistan is run by terrorists"

If someone is ok explaining the difference there, it'll keep me from blowing my face off in that thread.

If I said "Gaza is run by terrorists" I don't think I'd fair super well (probably be on timeout). But that's gotta be a little closer to the truth than Pakistan right about now.

Because it is a mainstream opinion that Pakistan was up until recently harboring the Taliban, as well as harbored Osama Bin Laden. This is not to even reference the military dictatorships that have marked Pakistan's short history as a country. Who qualifies as a "terrorist" is the same linguistic quagmire we find ourselves in with "genocide" and "apartheid". There are limits to what I can moderate as truth vs opinion. If there were racial qualifiers in the statement, that would also alter my opinion of the post, but there were none.

pretty sure nobody here would care if anyone said "pakistan is run by terrorists", and the mods here likely wouldn't try to parse it by that person's political beliefs if it happened. lolrafiki just trying to build a strawman so he can say that palestinians are all terrorists. good stuff

do the mods even read the threads here? because it seems like they check reported posts, and that's it
reactive modding instead of being proactive

But then we agree that if Hamas runs Gaza, and Hamas IS an internationally recognized terror group, that I can say "Gaza is run by terrorists".

That is in the clear, right? I'm not asking to be snarky. Legit ask on what I can say without a timeout. I want to avoid them where I can.

"how genocidal and racist can i be without getting banned??"

I have not moderated allegations of terrorism that are not seated in racial bias, and will continue to allow that POV to be heard unless it crosses into bigoted territory. Mainstream opinions are tolerated, regardless of whether I agree with them or not.

Rafiki, I am aware this inquest is motivated by your recent timeout. If you want to talk about it, I am available via PM after 10PM Eastern Time. I have rehearsal now.

Management has known about the problem for ages, it's just A. they don't care and B. banning these guys and endlessly litigating and re-litigating bans eventually grinds down the mods until they quit.

Yall are nice and all but it was a racist thing for me to say

However it is socially acceptable to say that

pw just said that Pakistan is run by terrorists in the IP thread and I didn't even bother reporting that absurd claim yes

We should start issuing several bans a day until we get to the bottom of why nobody posts around here.

I never met anyone in my life who voted right, who didn't consider Marxism inherently evil. Some might have claimed that Marxism was dead already so it was better to focus on other stuff , but the condemnation of Marxism as the actual absolute evil was universal in all my contact with people voting right, in various countries.Granted, I am talking mostly about Italy, Brazil and

Again, I have never even heard of anyone else saying this.

I guarantee you that most people who support those causes have very little idea of what Marxism is, would not claim to support it, and certainly don't support bloody revolution of the proletariat.

by 72off m

yeah but you're allowed to be super racist toward muslims here. this forum and site fully supports that. many such cases

It's always been impossible to be racist against Muslims and it always will be impossible.

Unless you think you can be racist against catholics. And racist against episcopalians. And racist against Buddhists.

Not to mention racist against democrats, women, the elderly, the handicapped, etc etc. Yawn.

I absolutely guarantee that I have never posted any opinion that was seated in racial bias. If you had read much of my posting history you would know that the only bias I have is against those who choose to be religious.

(c) Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups (such as members of the LGBTQ community or African Americans) with derogatory comments are not allowed.

i assume that religious bigotry is also not ok, but i could be wrong

There is 2 things going on.

1. Crossnerd is comfortable making subjective judgements, whereas this makes most mods uncomfortable; so they try to be objective, which invariably means allowing more borderline behavior.

2. You guys are (so far) responding better, mainly for evolutionary psychology reasons. Males (especially domesticated ones, like most of us) are less confrontational with females than other males.

--On a related note, this general behavior actually reinforces the reality that many/most trans females do in fact view themselves as females (and aren't bad faith actors), as they generally tend to be more aggressive, including physical violence, with cis-females than cis-males would be.

If you can cite this in the next ten minutes I won't ban for you for transphobic rhetoric. The clock starts now.

Evolutionary psych ban

Yep. I just sat down for dinner and looks like I have about 1 minute left, and I dont even know exactly what your expectations are for a cite. Just go ahead and ban me and get it over with.

I thought you confined your modding to the I/P thread, but this was probably inevitable anyways once you became green, so might as well get it over with.

Transphobic bigotry isn't allowed in any of the threads in P&S and if I see it, I will moderate it. See you in 24 hours.

They get to that in the eleventh year of college.

Again what i am saying is what De Santis team has been saying and a lot of people on the right in the USA and lately in europe as well say.
