When is time rake taken?
If the dealer sits down and everyone tosses him 7 bucks, what happens when a new guy gets seated 10 minutes into the down? The question is, at what point does a new player also pay for the down?
New players usually do not have to pay time until the next dealer after they sit down. So say you sit down 5 mins after a new dealer sits, you don’t pay until a dealer change.

Comps for poker of $.50 per hour began yesterday.

They do 2/1 comps there - so every $1 = $2 when you buy stuff.
I signed up for some promos there, and they gave me $50 in comps and I used $10 of them that night, but they were gone the next time I went there. I went to the help desk and they pretty much didn't know how to help. Perhaps someone took my card and used my comps?

What can you use them for outside of "buying things"?
Are they automatically loaded on your card for use at outlets? I never had comps there so curious how they work. Something is better than nothing. Also do they still have that place in the food court you can buy fudge? I used to enjoy taking a nice brick of that home with me.
Yes, you don't have to go to the floor to get money put on your card.

That dessert place in the food court is actually very reasonably priced. You can get a huge platter of desserts for less than $30. I've bought it a few times for the table. I feel like the equivalent at MGM would be like 3x as expensive. Even the individual items are reasonable.
Thanks all. I was up there recently to see a show and enjoyed playing there and eating/drinking at the sports bar and betting horses. Hope to get back soon,

They've just started a Happy Hour in the poker room with free drinks on Wed, Thurs, and Sunday, so I doubt this applies… but I'll see if I can find out.

Not sure if it was mentioned before, but:
The $0.50 per hour comps for playing poker becomes $ 1.00 per hour when used for food purchases.
Bad beat jackpot was eliminated starting 12/01/24.
Now paying more for Royal Flushes (still requiring both hole cards to be used, $10 in the pot, and 5 players dealt in the hand).
Now paying $2000 if you flop it (was $1000).
Now paying $750 if you turn it (was $500)
Now paying $500 if you river it (was $250)
I was there recently for a concert and I enjoy the place. The 1-2 is bizarre. It can be very tight/passive with a lot of 12 dollar pots or it can be crazy and play huge, especially late at night. Almost everyone you play with is also social and friendly which is a lot different from the Maryland casinos. And I like the food options, particularly nine dragons and the sports bar. Good concert venue also. And I used comps to buy Starbucks coffee. High hands decent too. The only thing I don’t like is raking without a flop, definite ripoff and changes odds on preflop raises. But overall I like it a lot. If it was 30 minutes instead of an hour I’d go a lot more.
Although I usually play at Nat Harbor, which is 30 minutes from me, I made the drive to Hollywood from Tysons, VA a few times in the past year. However, I've decided I'm not going back, even though on the weekend the 70 minute drive is fairly pleasant.
I don't like the vibe there. Despite being a 61 y.o. WM, I just feel out of place there, like it's "Billy-Bob's Underground Room," and I'm the obvious outsider. I witnessed a 3-handed pot in our cash game where one player went all-in, and the other two openly agreed to check it down. I said something to the dealer, who shrugged his shoulders and gave the players a desultory admonishment. I had difficulty trusting that the floor would even rule fairly if there was an actual dispute.
In addition, what's up with the unlimited-size straddles, especially since the buy-in is capped?
I'll just gamble my money in MD.
