Zoom journey to earning a living | Poker learning blog

Hello everyone, I'm from a third world country, so even barely beating 25 NL would be enough to make me rich here, and people say this is very doable, so I going to try.
I made about 50$ at NL2 Zoom and wisdom says to move up as fast as possible
The trouble is, I play very exploitatively and blackrain79-style, I don't even know the 3-bet ranges for most positions or any 4-bet ranges.
The small skirmishes I made into NL5 made me feel people are actually playing poker there, with tons of 3-bets and people playing tighter post-flop.

My plan for this week is to learn about common 3-betted pots post-flop, about light 4-bets, and watch pro zoom players, for at least an hour per day.
I will also be playing NL5 for at least an hour per day. Today's session: +3,45$ in 1400 hands (7bb/100 if it was all on NL5)

Good luck with your journey!

Back from a small break due to health issues
Another very small 5NL "session" and got +7,51$ over 550 hands,
This is because I won a flip, discounting it I would still have 9bb/100
Only once I felt lost on what do do, should have started moving up weeks ago.

I've also made 39 dollars in 250 games of 1$ spins so I'm in doubt about what path I'll take, spins are so much easier but have so much more variance...

My sessions are so small because I play a single table instead of multitabling, this is what skyrocketed my winrate at NL2

hey, gl on your journey.

What country are you from? Phillipines or Vietnam or something else?

Saving the temporarily exponential graph for posterity. If I make 40 dollars I'll go to NL10. I will try to play more hands per day.
The numbers are different from the thread cause I separated them differently.

This is all thanks to our donors who cbet up to an allin with a bluff when it's obvious we have something.

Thank you. It's Brazil, our minimum wage in dollars is a bit higher than the Phillipines' (278 dollars/month vs 186 dollars/month)

I thought I would have to study a lot and that I'd share the learnings here and also ask questions.
I thought opponents would be applying maximum pressure making me question every pot.
But it is basically the same game.
For now I just need to play more and more.

Also I just now realized GGPoker shows the results pre-rake, I have to upload it all to hand2note to recalculate it.

Yeah this is one of the many aspects of GGPoker that is very questionable. Pokercraft is not accurate at all. Hand2Note provides much better options.

Here are some free study resources you might want to look into;

* GTOWizard has the preflop charts available for free
* YouTube: Upswing Poker, Carrot Corner, Jonathan Little, Red Chip Poker, Crush Live Poker, Saulo Costa
* DTO: Cash is a smartphone app. If you have a compatible phone then you can use it for some free GTO drills

I also ran into this Brazillian training site a few weeks ago. I couldn't get the language options to show the site in English but from what I could understand I am pretty sure they have a limited amount of free access to their content and trainer. https://www.erpsystems.cl/iapoker/

I wish you luck on your journey. Half of the people I play with on GG seem to be Brazillian so if they can do it then I am sure that you can too!
