the most RIO of RIO hands
1/3 NLHE 5 handed.
Table is short as its not the main game. I kind of like it because it means more spots with the fish. No good players at table and I just sat down a few hands ago.
V - unknown loose passive asian kid. Seen him in the room a bit but don't know much about him. Just has no clue. Covers.
H - 400$ BTN.

Folds to me and I make it 10 with A♣ Q♣ V in SB makes it 20, BB folds, I contemplate 4-betting but decide this guy has AA and KK here and so just call.
Flop 40 - K♣ 6♥ 2♦
V bets 20 bucks, I call (what's the max you would call here?)
Turn 80 - Q♦
V bets 35, I call
River 150 - 9♦
V bets 50, Hero?

Fold flop. If he has JJ+/AK, he is way ahead. If he is bluffing, let him have your $20.
I'd probably prefer to 4bet (-fold) preflop but you can't go badly wrong calling with great odds guaranteed heads up in position.
As you say flop is your RIO spot and given that id probably just fold the half pot size but call a smaller sizing. The card you need to be careful of is the...
...Queen. Now you hit your pair but all hope of a big hand goes out of the window you're in a tricky spot.
By the river, a tight passive player has 3bet preflop and gone bet-bet-bet on KQxxx. Get out while you still can and he's the wrong opponent to bluff.
I agree with your range of V. The only reason to call the 3! is because of the ridiculous IO that V is offering. Once you miss hitting high equity OTF, it's time to fold.

Lol, you can't fold to this sizing. 4! might be possible at higher stakes or against a loose 3-bettor. This guy is passive and likely has KK+ for this sizing or some other strong range.
Just call pre and fold flop when we miss.
It's a call down in theory*, so it's just a matter of how good your read is that he's passive. Obviously you're not very confident in it if you put him on KK+ and then called the flop...
EDIT: Missed that the BDF got there. River's a fold regardless of read, but my point stands on flop and turn.
Since it was folded to us otb I might be tempted to make it 30/f, but that's just me.
As played just fold otf but if we called it's to turn a club or ace not a queen so still fold ott.
I like a 4bet fold pre, but call is OK since it was a minclick. Fold the flop. Fold the turn. Now that you are here, kick yourself, kiss your chips (blow the kiss, please), and sigh-call. That is your punishment for getting here.
Now that I think about it, does he have a fold button? If so, raise the river with your bluff-flush 😉
This deep and in position against what we perceive as a face up range and for this price, I can get behind preflop.
Our reasons for not 4betting preflop don't seem to jive with our postflop play. We put this guy on a face up monster preflop (fine, imo)... and yet call the flop with A high? And call the turn with 2nd pair?
I'm guessing the river question is whether to turn our hand into a bluff against weak sizing and a somewhat scary river? I typically wouldn't attempt that if preflop I'm thinking he has QQ+ a lot.
