Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?

I have read about it in the past, just curious.

Looks about right to me. From experience there will be decent variance. And I'd try to memorize some simple ways to remember which hands you keep over which other hands

well Jacks or better is very easy to memorize - but if you have any issues just use WinPoker on your iphone - which i'm not sure is still available. It was $10 but you can input any paytable from any game - and you just analyze any hand it will tell you what to hold.

It won't have super times pay or ultimate X but it has all the regular machines. If you want those solutions you will need to pay for videopoker.com subscription - just do the month and than cancel it after your trip.

"Average loss" is over thousands of trials. It's not usable if you're playing a couple of sessions, or a couple dozen sessions. It includes hitting a $4000 royal, so it's not $280 over any kind of reasonable sample. IMO it's more like 4 digits.

Correct - but you can still hit a royal and even if you don't it's fine. It's about 2% of the EV so your still only going to be down on average $1000~ instead of $280

I've not been serious about vp in some years, and not serious about CET vp for some years before that, but IIRC 9/6 JOB vp was awarded fewer credits than other vp paytables.

I'm not saying that is still the case, but it is certainly something to investigate before attempting to gain a status with it.

I thought it was $25 per 1 tier credit. Maybe someone that lives in vegas can look at the 9/6 JoB in vegas otherwise it won't be worth doing.

$25 dollar per spin is the "bad rate" already (I think some may be 50 Dollars a credit)

I'm guessing Tom thought you thought it was 10 dollars a tier credit but you already knew it was 25.

No, I think I later remembered the details. I'm not sure if they even still use the same system of awarding credits as I haven't played any of their properties in quite a while. The tier credits were the same for all vp machines at each property (but not among properties), but most of the properties lowered (or even eliminated) reward credits on 9/6 JOB machines.

I also recall a period where some properties required $10/TC while others required $25/TC for vp.

CET has pretty muchstandardized across all the Vegas properties. They're all sucky at 1 for 10, around 98%. You have to play $5 credits at least to get anything better.

If you really want to play vp for vp's sake, not just to get tier credits, Orleans, Gold Coast, South Point, and maybe Red Rock is where you want to go.

downtown still has lots of 9/6 JOB. Southpoint even has it at the bars.

Well in Atlantic city - I was just there - it was $25 per point a spin at harrahs for 9/6 JOB so if you need to get 2500 at 10x multiplier that is $62500 coin in (perhaps a bit less if you add in the bonus tier credits) but times that by .9954 and you get 62212.5 so it costs around $280 to get diamond plus on 10x multiplier days if you don't mind a little variance.

Probably ether win or loss a few thousand but on average $280~

It's 25000 tier credits for Diamond Plus.

I don't even know what going on anymore

Woo Hoo!

Found out my Diamond Plus free drinks are still valid.

Although the lines at the cashier are much longer. Maybe the word is out.

Careful, I was playing last year at Harrah's AC and didn't notice that 9/6 JOB was excluded from promotions until too late. There was a sticker on the machine.

As of today, the Belle Madeline has 1 liter Fiji's. Just in time for summer, twice the water but still just "1 drink".

Does anyone have a phone number I can call for a Rewards question? I want to find out if my free drink privilege got axed. If it's still good, I plan to make another trip to get Diamond Plus for next year. If they did axe me, there's no need for Plus and I won't make another trip. The number on the card only sends you to make reservations.

It sounds like you already have your answer, but here’s a screenshot of a voicemail I got from a phone number that may yield results for anyone else who might need to inquire. No drinks for me despite 35K TC in 2023. I am behind pace for Diamond this year, by choice, after realizing that they were cutting back on perks.

A really well timed ‘courtesy call’ five weeks AFTER cutting me off. [emoji2357] They can fly a kite if they think I’m going to play slots/VP and then beg them to see if I’ve played enough. No transparency means no play for now.

Ouch. I got a number that was supposed to be Total Rewards Customer Service, but I just got connected to reservations. I decided to ask them anyway, the person was nice enough to try (or pretend to), put me on hold and call an internal number to ask about it. That person relayed to the person I was talking to, that I had to come in in person to ask. LOL, I was trying to avoid a trip. Last second I decided to fly in last weekend to take a couple shots at the Gladiator (free flight with points) and found out my Diamond Plus still works.

It would be nice if you could find out how many slot/table credits they want you to earn, but of course they won't tell you that. Still, it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Where are the 9/6 JOB machines located?

I would rather play them and win some money than worry about making Diamond.

I would tend to not call and ask to try and stay off their radar if I thought I was a marginal case.

diamond cove in harrahs - there are 4 of them so you have to hunt for them - most of the machines are not great

They're still -EV, you'd be gambling with the worst of it.

I truly believe Caesars Rewards is based upon the fact that the casual/ignorant won't care enough to figure it out and that they can create enough of a confusing maze to those who are knowledgeable enough to care.

I’m going to be in Vegas for the upcoming 5x tier credit multiplier promotion. What is the best way to get my 5k tier credits in terms of minimal EV loss? It seems from the comments above like 9/6 Jacks or Better is not the answer because its $25/tier credit. Thanks!

In terms of pure EV loss, 9/6 JoB is still probably the best choice. Getting 2500 TCs would require $62.5K coin-in for an EV loss of around $300.

I got my Diamond status during a 5X TC promotion playing 9/5 JoB at $10/TC.
This would be $25K coin-in for 2500 TCs and an EV loss just under $400.

Just be aware that the variance of both these strategies is quite large, and larger in the first case than the second.

I got the 2500 tc earlier in the year, during a 5x promo. I can't remember exactly how much it cost me, I think it was between $1000 and $1500.

BUT I didn't play Job, too boring, I played Double Bonus which is close to the same return, about 98-ish %. I also played Super Times Pay and Double Super Times Pay, for the jackpot-ish aspect. I once had a hand brewing that was 4 to a royal, had it come in I think the win would've been $400k-ish. Playing DST probably cost me an extra couple three hundred bucks. I was down close to 3 grand near the end, but went on a $1500 sun run to close it out.

The moral of the story being, bring lots of extra cash that you don't think you'll need. Likewise, calculate how much value you think you'll get out of Diamond before you go. If you don't think you'll get a thousand in value, consider other options, like card status matching, etc. Because you don't want to be a couple thousand tc away, and your planned amount burned up, and have to walk away a grand poorer AND without Diamond.

edit: However, there are some intangibles to playing $25/tc, at somewhere like Caesars. They might consider you a high roller and give you some nice comps, at least once.

Would like to get Diamond for next year. Debating which is better just paying for a founders card or going for DIAD during the 10x multiplier in August.

Founder’s Card is obviously no variance. Is the cheapest way to do get it $395? (F anyone has a code for cheaper, please send)

DIAD seems more fun, plus you will likely earn a ton of room comps. Which method of getting DIAD involves the lowest risk of ruin? I assume slots would be better than VP because you earn TCs faster even if it has the lowest EV.
