For rational people, there's a lot of room between there being conspiracies everywhere, and "my government would NEVER lie to me". In fact, I don't know that I've ever encountered anyone who believes "my government would NEVER lie to me".

Project 25 Is a good pragmatic approach about how to get rid of enemies of the right among civil servants.

But there is no reason to think the ATF decision during trump presidency was taken against Trump will. They thought it made for good optics after the Las Vegas massacre and they went for it. Then litigated it in court defending it.

It was a bad choice , a violent abuse of Congressional delegation, and it was fixed. Not because it's "good" to have machine gun equivalents available to the people (that's debatable).

But because that's NOT a choice the executive gets to take. It's a power of Congress. The executive in that case should, as in the name, merely execute the will of others. That's the job

Because the government isn't likely to go many stories up in a hotel on the Vegas strip and rain bullets on people at a music festival.
