THE Official 2024 PGA Tour Season Thread
I don't have a fancy OP or anything. But now that we are in 2024, and are back to calendar schedules instead of the reach-around schedule, its time for a new thread.
yeah Hovland was in reverse yday
me thinks Jack has his place exactly where he wants it
Scottie too good. Insane year.
jeeebus Stricker misses a 2' to extend a playoff vs Els on the Champions Tour
hard to watch misses like that one
Really looking forward to this week. Looks like there could be some carnage.
I got Mickelson taking this thing down like duh obvious for justice on the Payne Stewart battle. (If my memory serves that was at this course.) In case he doesn't win it, I took some stabs on Morikawa, Koepka, and somebody else all about 20/1.
Trivia: What US Open winner died in jail?
Winner-Cam Smith
Fade-Xander
Sleeper-Tiger
I'm looking forward to it, if nothing else for the difficulty and potential carnage.
I've watched a lot of videos in the last week from the usual content creators. Would love to get to NC to play some of these courses. Having said that, while the overall course has a definitive look and feel to it, I can't say any of the holes at No. 2 really strike me as standouts or create a strong visual in my mind's eye. Maybe that's a good thing, dunno -- let the golfers create the excitement.
I like Bryson and Ludvig this week. Longshots Bezuidenhout and Cam Davis.
Certainly not touching Scottie at +290.
Morikawa at 14-1 is tempting as he's in great form and 2 major wins under his belt.
The defending champion and #3 on the money list is 80-1???? That's serious value there if you ask me.
Zalatoris is #16 on the money list, finished 2nd two years ago, and is a great ball striker. Yes please at 90-1.
Flyer on Akshay Bhatia at 225-1. Perhaps Theegala at 50-1?
i'd take the Ludvig bait over Bryson being sympathetic to a crown he vanquished on the first nine of his last round in '21

also willingly a Zalatoris fan. historically he putts hard greens very well.
Curious how Garcia qualified?
take a shot of hard liquor every time you hear "par is a good score" this week
make sure your affairs and will are in order first tho
Nice start for Tiger.
JT dfl in SG APP (plus -2.42 in SG PUTT)
dude's game is broke
Hovland wanted to repeat that performance today. Damn is his short game horrific.
My first thought after the PGA Champ was Rory is winning the US Open. Good start.
False. Sam Bairstow had -5.094 SG approach today. JT is 136 with -1.936.
Also good approach numbers does not necessarily equal a good round today.
Rory seems focused and dialed this week. His off course issues sorted and he has that Rory swagger where it looks like he's going to lap the field.
so DJ is never going to win anything of value ever again
+4 cut line would have been nice. So far this week has been a lot more enjoyable to eat h then the PGA.
