2/5 limped pot 33 in BB

Basically I think it’s a travesty to not get all in here

I’m checking the River. Basically V’s range is a Jack a straight or a missed flush draw, and he’s likely betting all of those on the River. The only hand he might be checking back is 54/65/53/etc and he’s not calling a pot-sized bet with those anyway.

So yeah I think check-jam is best, to get value from his bluffs, and (likely) ensure the double-up when he has trips or a straight.

Nothing here is terrible in a vacuum, but pre and all streets post flop could be very dependent on villains and you've given us nothing on them. Do you have anything?

Agree that river’s a good time to go for a stackadonk line.

Raise the flop. A flop raise will get stacks in smoothly across 3 streets.

PRE - seems fine. I'm wondering if this is ever a spot to 3B-squeeze with a small PP.

FLOP - When SB donks 2/3 pot into five opponents, that's pretty strong. I think flatting next to act is fine.

TURN - The 5d is mostly a brick, other than bringing in 64 and A4. I think I'd bet a little bigger, at least $60 (2/3 pot). Maybe $75.

RIVER - Interesting spot. HJ could have a lot of JX that wants to bet, or some busted spade draws that might bluff sometimes. But how often are flush draws going to bet when the board pairs the top card, and we could have JX ourselves? It's also a disaster if V checks back some weak JX or A5 that might hero-call a big bet.

I think an over-bet here is going to be higher EV than going for a check-raise. I'd probably bet around $275.

Your line looks fine. Turn should be larger but isn't really bad. There other options you could take, particularly on the river but they depend on knowing more about opponent. In a 2/5 game 2 hands in where opponent limped and then called 2 streets you have to assume they are passive. So trying to check/raise river is risky. After the jack pairs they are not likely to bluff, are not going to bet other pairs that just made 2 pair and since you took the lead in betting they could check a weak jack. If they don't have a jack it's too likely you do and are hoping they bet.

HJ is the most likely player to have a big draw that can come over the top or TPGK that can get raked over the coals for 3 streets of value, so it feels a shame to lock them out of the hand.

I have no idea how you would have known that ex ante (one of the random limpers has a stronger range than the guy OOP leading into the field….???) , but even if that’s true, isn’t that an argument for raising so that we can get him to put more money in rather than letting him realize his equity with draws for cheap?

Flop is reasonably dynamic and has a FD, I would raise there. Becomes much easier to get stacks in that way I think.

Im raising flop, calling isnt terrible but i mostly raise here.

OTT, id bet $65-80 range. Its a straight completing card so you cant just bomb the turn, but doesnt complete a ton of straights.

OTR i think Check and induce bluff seems good.

Pot sized at least. You might have missed your chance for extra value with that low turn bet.

hypothetical: do we give credit that the villain has quads or a better boat?
