If you got paid 2x for 1/2 the effort that probably wouldn't make you work hard either. Nobody except for CR7 puts in the work to stay in shape year round just to play a tournament in the summer without extra pay. Besides that, you obviously can't make up for the lack in high level competitive matches.

Going to Saudi-Arabia is mostly a one way trip, same as MLS or China in the past. With some exceptions obviously.
