Caruso is expiring.... prolly only one first rounder was offered. Giddey has some value still and is pretty young 21 (22 on Oct 10)
Caruso has been one the most hyped role played for two years and his names been in a ton of trades. Bulls prob turned down a bunch of ****. I think the shine is starting to come off picks, teams wanting more proven commodities now and Giddey has at least shown potential
I’m pretty high on him. He’s a PG and thus a horrendous fit with SGA. He’s 21 and Caruso is 30. Bulls are going nowhere anytime soon so seems like a good low risk high reward move.
Jokes about Giddy being a diddler or just sucking aside, this has a tinge of the PG-Oladipo/Sabonis trade to it.

Initially assumed both guys were sort of spare parts, then they each ended up as All-NBA guys.
Obviously Giddey is still unknown, but that's probably about the thought process.
Bulls could use an innings-eating starter while OKC is good with their rotation, getting an elite (yet injury-prone) set-up man out of the bullpen is optimal

The Luka hate on the internet these days reminded me of this place and how much time I had to spend arguing that Dirk was better than Lamar Odom.
Josh Giddey getting traded or will LeBron get his son drafted generating more discussion than the NBA finals is a pretty good encapsulation of where the NBA is right now
Giddey can't make a jumpshot. Pretty important skill in today's nba.
He was a liability for Okc and they moved him for a better player.

i'd have Luka 3rd (probably why there isn't much discussion about criticizing him post finals...unless you are lebron/kobe levels of polarization, nobody really cares about criticizing the 2nd-3rd best player in the nba, especially when he is 25 y/o)
but i'd take giannis healthy over luka i think, with the caveat being it seems like giannis is getting hurt and missing time significantly more than luka considering it has now happened in 3 of the last 5 playoffs hes been in
that is a big gap in defensive ability between those 2, which kinda got lost a bit this yr because rest of bucks roster was aids on D
i guess one potential drawback to giannis is if he is the 4, you do need some semblance of a stretch 5 and there are only so many of them that can also defend. How he would look in another situation as the clear center is interesting
but jokic is still #1, i'd snap take him over luka, he's a machine and it is unfortunate nuggs/celts wasnt the matchup

8 rounds I'd say.. basically a playoff rotation. Or 2 more guys than necessary if your coach is Thibs.
