I agree. But only for a business dinner would I stay on strip (I know those were the parameters of the question). Honestly, it’s incomprehensible to me to spend that kind of money instead of getting an Uber to Kabuto or Yui or a couple other places.
Is Kabuto really casual dining... especially adding $40 or whatever for Ubers?
I'd actually take Tekka at Cosmo if you want a quick bite. Seriously, Block 16 has a lot of good food.
Kabuto is not casual at all, but one of the best if not the best meal I ever had, and the most expensive.
probably not the most expensive for me, but likely top three most memorable
Noone ever mentions Sushi Roku at the top of Caesars Shops, the happy hour was great value if I remember correctly, I am not sure its as "authentic" as other locations but solid for a rainbow and unagi.
Authentic sushi is a scam anyway
scams are also a scam

Lol so funny this article came out. Just believe the big guy about good food next time.
In fairness I didn't realize we were in casual dining thread so apologies. Maybe I eat too much but am I spending that much less at Zuma than I am at Kabuto? Could be that I'm measuring Zuma in 2024 prices and Kabuto in 2018 prices, but my point was only that for the quality difference and experience vs the modest price difference (again, maybe I'm wrong here), I think I would rather go to Kabuto.

I don't disagree with you either. And yes, yellowtail and zuma have strip pricing. If we take out the Uber vs walking, then my only other comment is the ability to just walk into Kabuto without a reservation.

We ended up at sushi Roku last night had no wait at all at 7:15 PM and thought the food, service and value was pretty good. Had three different rolls plus a sashimi order of tuna and the bill was $135 with tip for two of us. I was expecting it to be a lot more, given the cost of everything on the strip these days.
Could have taken a short Uber to any number of AYCE sushi places and paid half the price and gotten way more food of likely better quality
Another epic skirt steak at Bavette’s:
Yea I’m really against the dj thing at restaurants, but there are some places are just far better at it. We went to spago for a Sunday brunch, service was good, food was good, but they had a dj on a computer and it just never fit the more upscale Bellagio crowd that skewed slightly older.
I know James Trees has talked a lot about curating specific playlists to fit what he is going for at esters, despite all the work for that I am not sure he has nailed it either. I just turned 40, but super o
Massive agree. This will be an old guy take, but these DJs rarely seem to be doing much of anything. Like, this Mex place had one and all he did was play stuff like the most famous Santana songs. How does this differ from a spotify list?
It's also a big pet peeve to go to an upscale place where the median customer is probably 50 and they are playing today's hits, usually too loudly. Us fogeys don't want that. Low class. If you're in a nicer restaurant you might be a bit smarter and more sophisticated than average so, I'm sure a lot of us didn't really care for top 40 pop songs even in our youths.
I don't listen to Sinatra in my car, but it's perfect for a restaurant.
Was super excited when I heard Roy Choi was opening a spot here but the reviews I saw were usually underwhelming so I never bothered to go. Will have to finally check it out.

My favorite Indian place is Everest. Not great reviews, no hype I ever saw. Always wondered why. It's the children who are wrong.
Someone asked for an Indian rec in here and a bunch of people said Everest.
Bad weather had us take an earlier flight this morning. A nice perk was...
Caviar deviled eggs, smoked salmon Benedict, and short rib hash at Bardot.
IMO, you can skip the deviled eggs, but the other dishes were great.
Gwen has the receipt and I'm not waking her up right now. I believe $150ish before tip. $18 x 2 for the champagne, $23 for the deviled eggs, $35 for the hash, and I don't remember... but something like $33 for the bene.
I will say that the Benedict was perfectly salted. I thought it was very good.
I’d be on that Hash asap. The food presentation is vg but the hash looks incredible
The hash is on a waffle. I expected the waffle to be a bit more crispy. Both were good... I just enjoyed the Benedict better.
Tough to beat a well made Benedict. Also probably the most messed up food of my lifetime.

Was talking to a Nepalese friend of mine who raves about Mt. Everest. Telling me I need to go with her because she gets better food than the normies. Will have to take her up on that. Haven’t been in maybe 10 years but always liked it.
no frame of reference for Nepalese flavors
