"The Boys" on Amazon
Just found out Amazon made a series out of Garth Ennis' "The Boys" comic. It's about a world with a super corrupt corporate system of Super-Heroes, and a secret government black-ops group of superhumans keeping them in check.
I found the comics pretty amazing. Adapting this seems challenging, but even if they do this only half-right this should still be great! 😀
Just to give an idea about the comic:
lol just read the above and got reminded of Love Sausage. 😃 OMG I hope they make enough seasons to get to Love Sausage! Ya'll are in for a treat!
Yeah I'm in for Season 4 why not
Sure thing. S3 was already spinning its wheels a bit, but still a great show. S5 will be the final season, lets see them go all out now.

s3 was treading water?
WHAT...
the sex party and the fight between homelander and billy butcher was worth every second wasted treading water.
what season 3 had that I didn't like was they began to add ancillary characters that seemed to dilute what good during season 1/2
And now our diverse group of friends from Gen V are here to help
Meh, if they are I'm probably out. CBA to sit through that show to understand the meta of S4.
Gen V was actually really good. First 3 episodes of S4 were not imo... its just pretty boring atm.
I might just have forgotten. But when Huey said Neuman was like an aunt to him… i have no recollection of that
They trying to do service to their characters and actors. But who cares about frencho’s gay boyfriend? Or kimiko’s traumatic past. Or Butcher’s ghost wife
The only one of “The Boys” i care about is Huey and that does not extend to Huey’s parents.
Everything with Vought/The Seven/ world building is still pretty good.
The Zoe scene in episode 1 was pretty wild and genuinely surprising
Don't know why they needed the sauna scene to be so much. Could have had like two doppelgangers instead of eight.
I'm starting to see an arc where Ryan turns against his father and comes back to Butcher's side possibly.
Deep and Black Noir being comic relief is working okay so far but just needs to avoid getting too silly. If anyone hasn't checked out Deep's Tiktok stuff it's actually pretty hilarious.
But who cares about frencho’s gay boyfriend
This is one of the most bizarrely unnecessary subplots I've ever seen on a show. I suspect they didn't have anything for Frenchie to do so they made this up but it is adding nothing.

Feels like the theme of this season is bad decisions coming back to haunt everyone (Frenchie killing Colin's entire family, Starlight gaslighting Firecracker out of the pageant circuit, Newman not being able to kill Hughie bc of Red River, etc.)
I am out, and apparently, I am not the only one. Yikes.
Best season so far since Season 1 by a long shot
S3 first half. Seems like a lot of scenes have been put in solely for blood and guts shock value rather than to devlop the storyline. Also as has been pointed out, a lot of unnecessary time has been given to tertiary characters. Its still watchable. Maybe it gets better.
You do understand those aren't actual viewers downvoting? It's just MAGA chuds, who believe Homelander should be the hero, review bombing the show.
It took them four season to realize what sane, logical people knew in season one - they just needed it spelled our more loudly for them to clue in.
Bit of both probably. The show is also not that great compared to the other seasons atm
Simon Pegg gona have powers tho
So far i think the new characters are carrying it. The Sage stuff is good. The Firecracker stuff is good.
Other than Homelander, the familiar characters are stuck in the same ruts theyve been in for the most of the series.
And theyve created brand new ruts for Frencho and Kimiko to make them feel included
never bothered watching this cuz I'm just not into superhero genre at all but wife loved it and I found out seth rogan was an exec producer and I love all his stuff so checked it out and man just hooked me immediately and really love it so far.
really fantastic.
how is gen v?
