Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic failed, and it became a general discussion thread with almost no moderation related posts at all. And those that were posted were so buried in non-mod posts that it became a huge time drain on the mods to sort through them. Then, when off topic posts were deleted posters complained about that.
This led to the closing of the mod discussion thread, replaced by the post report/pm approach. This has filtered out lots of noise, but has resulted at times in the General Discussion Thread turning into a quasi-mod thread. This is not desirable, but going back to the old mod thread is also not a workable option.
Therefore, I have created this new moderation thread, but with a different purpose and ground rules than previous mod threads. The purpose of this thread is to provide a place for posters to pose questions to the mods about how policies are applied; to bring to the mods attention posts they think are inappropriate and reach the level of requiring mod action; and for mods to communicate to posters things like changes or clarifications to policies, bannings, etc.
Now let me tell you what this thread is NOT a place for. It is not for nonmoderation related posts, even if the discussion originates from a comment in in a mod related post. It is not for posters to post their opinions about other posters or whether a poster should be banned. It is not to rehash past grievances about mod decisions from months or years ago. The focus of this thread will be recent posts that require action now. Or questions about current policies and enforcement.
So basically, this is a thread to ask mods questions. Which means, pretty much that only mods should be answering those questions. If a poster asks why a particular post was deleted or allowed, only a mod can answer that. Everyone else who wants to jump in with their opinion or their mod war story needs to stay out of it. It just increases the noise to signal ratio and does nothing to answer the question.
Everyone needs to understand that this thread has very different rules than the old mod thread and any other thread. Any non-moderation post will be deleted on sight. Not moved to the appropriate thread, just deleted. So don't waste your time crafting a masterpiece post about wars or transgender issues or the presidential election and then post it in this thread. It will be gone. Also, this isnt a thread for general commentary about our mods performance. Posting "browser sucks as a mod" or any such posts that don't actually ask about a policy or request a mod action will be deleted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the moderation of this forum. But this thread isnt for complaining about mods. You are free to go to the ATF forum and make your concerns about modding in this forum there.
So with that intro, this thread is open for those who need to bring questions about mod policies or bring inappropriate posts to the mods attention. Again, it is NOT a thread for group discussions about other posters or for other posters to answer questions directed to mods.
We'll see how this goes. If you have what you feel is an open issue raised in the General Discussion Thread, please copy that post or otherwise reintroduce the issue here.
Thanks.
The one where the purpose is to kill all the people of a race, not the one where some die as collateral damage while trying to destroy terrorists
How about you?
That’s not the definition of genocide though. That’s the definition of extermination
Did you know that? Do I need to post the different definitions?
Oh good, this chat again.
Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people in whole or in part. In 1948, the United Nations Genocide Convention defined genocide as any of five "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group".
For the umpteenth time, there is no intent to destroy in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group
I'm no fan of Joe Biden but "Genocide Joe" us a disgusting misnomer
Please take the I/P debates back to that thread where they belong
This is a word debate, just happen to be using Israel /palestine as an example.
Mets keeps changing the definitions of words and then lying about it.
Certainly that’s bad faith posting
Genocide can be extermination
Extermination is always genocide
Genocide is not always extermination
The Nazis did a genocide during their extermination
The IDF is doing a genocide but they are not doing an extermination (afaik)
This is similar to how a square is a rectangle , yet a rectangle is not a square
Lol PW. Is trolling about what words are OK to use and when a hobby of yours or something?
PW on why you shouldn't use the term "Native American":
Its not. Aztecs are not native americans. Now you know that aztecs dont like to be referred to as that way. You can no longer say that in your experience it is a fine term to use. Now you know that if you say that again, you will be lying, as it is not a fine term to use.
Are you ok with lying to yourself?
PW repeatedly using the term "Native American":

Why did you use the term native americans?
PW is doing a complicated bit where he's a caricature of a left-wing scold. It's not super funny, but he's too deep into the bit to stop now.

This is you justifying your name .
The only distinction u can possibly make is genocide is targeting a specific group while extermination target everything/everyone .
But the end game is the same .
Regardless of whether or not Aztecs like being called native Americans, they still are native Americans.

Not a personal attack. You have been told many times that killing/exterminating all Palestinians is genocide.
You posted that it’s not genocide cause they weren’t killing all of the people.
You know that isn’t the definition
Then when asked to post the definition, you changed it and left out the all part.
You’re changing things around. I’m not attacking you

At first you said all people. Then you changed it.
Evidence is in post above, last quoted words

Oh dear, seems you forgot your own lies.
because I dont care enough to use the other terms, I feel like it sounds cringe when I say it as if I am wanting extra attention. This is because of people like you that think native american is proper and its also because of people like me that should speak up more. I should fix that.
Bro giving my opinion isn’t a lie and no I don’t remember my old opinions.
Lol what opinion? You've simply given two conflicting reasons because you forgot what reason you gave last time.
Dude, you're a terrible troll. You bring the rest of us into disrepute.
I’m not trolling so whatever is going on in your head that makes you think that, is in your head

The Nazis didn't kill all the jews, so I guess it wasn't extermination.
