NBA 2024-25 Season Thread
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
when him and lebron play together on dec 17th in garbage time, i feel like social media and everyone is just going to rag on it...no one is going to see it as some seminal moment
guess itll give the talking heads something to discuss though
Ken Griffey Jr. isn't walking through that door.
in actual real basketball news
klay to remain with warriors has fallen to +400 on DK
seems like everything gets decided pretty fast this year with free agency one way or another
Everyone talking about nepotism like we haven’t all been watching this happen for years.
Junior had such graceful power because he wasn't a brawny guy
Second day of the draft was terrible. Filmed in some studio somewhere. No audience. No juice. Awful
had no clue griffey went back to seattle to finish his career in '09-10, he really became irrelevant after he left the mariners in '99
sox winning it all in '07 was kinda last time i followed baseball closely
this story on this mormon guy from duke is umm....a bit weird

Playing in the NBA with his son is objectively incredible imo
i don't care either way, but if i were a laker fan i'd be thinking why we wasting a roster spot on this lame when not enough quality roleplayers has been our issue the last few years (basically since the Russ deal)
i wonder if lebron does the lakers a solid on this next contract coming up? i mean dude was supposedly worth a B like 2 years ago, he's about to turn 40, maybe he gives them a deal and it helps them add a few guys in FA.
guess well know in a few days
The only real reason he was drafted was because of his father. Change his last name to Jones, with no NBA family connections, and he does NOT get drafted.
i mean it's not at all impressive given that it's 1000% nepotism and zero to do with merit

LeBron's M.O. has been to always take the biggest contract possible that he can since his Miami days. He took less money on that deal to fit the big 3 and they cut his buddy Mike Miller for the owner to save a few Million. That royally pissed off LeBron who totally understood how he increased the net worth of the team by hundreds of millions by signing there and winning 2 championships.
I'd be super surprised if he takes less money than the absolute max, even though he'll never spend the money and it would greatly help his legacy to be able to sign another good player and win another championship.

He’s taking the full Kobe golden handshake maximum imo. And sure, it will be a terrible contract.

They showed this graphic of the last 10 players drafted at 55 on First Things First.
So the Lakers can
1. Draft a random guy that's likely going to suck.
2. Draft Bronny who's likely going to suck, but will entice Lebron to stay.
Seems like a no brainer to me.
Jay Scrubb what a legend
Now that's a second round pick name.
Jay Winner would have been drafted late first.
for fun, ok I'll play devil's advocate for the fakers drafting BRONNY:
without Googling, can any of u tell me anything about:
- ariel hukporti
- ulrich chomche
- kevin mccullar jr
What I think some of you are neglecting to consider is the possibility that Bronny sucked and had a heart attack on purpose so he wouldn't get drafted early.

it isnt about the draft pick, it is about the roster spot
you want as many bullets as possible to find the next caruso reaves aaron wiggins.....with the new CBA, winning on the margins is more valuable than ever
but yeah, this move is likely to be negligible...it is just very suboptimal as well and no serious organization would do it
i get the bucks caving to giannis on his brother cause its the bucks, but this is the lakers and lebron is 40
Where’s the Big 3 thread? Three’s Company has the ball and Michael Cooper calls timeout down 48-47.
But they didnt have timeout. One technical free throw worth two points. Gerald Green’s brother hits it and Bivouac wins 50-47 and remains undefeated at 2-0
