20 Questions
I'm thinking of a movie.
Go!
I think it is probably Taylor Swift - Mean. It charted in 2010 but the wiki for the song shows it being released as a single in 2011. I'd imagine this is the date EB would use for this game.
A couple other ones that seem to fit:
Avril Lavigne - What the Hell
Dev - In the Dark
This is why I ****ing hate searching for songs in this game. There always seems to be some red herring that sends you on a wild goose chase and ends up just wasting your time. How the **** does a song released in 2011 chart in 2010???
Anyway, I don't think it's Mean because that song is totally unmemorable (just like most of country era Swift songs are), but it is probably gonna end up being something stupid like "it was released in 2011 but only charted in 2017 because a movie it was used in made it famous hurr durr".
My Google search for Taylor Swift - Mean says 2010. So that probably eliminates that.
What the Hell made the year end chart btw, so it's not that.
Okay this might be it. I get that exact Google bubble when I google it although the wiki says 2012. It charted in 2012 and topped at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is confirmed terrible.

Nice work, lol, I think this one is in the bag.
That is a terrible song, I could only make it through the first 30 seconds of completely autotuned vocals.
Oooh nice! I feel fortunate not to know it

Geez, you didn't have to go all private investigator on my decade old posts.
But, yeah, that's obviously it.
Everything about that song is horrendous. She can't sing, the beat sucks, the lyrics are abysmal, and I don't know what the **** that grunting thing is.
A lot of your early suggestions were also really bad. (Dance Monkey in particular might be an all-time bottom 10 song)
A little annoyed that Call Me Maybe was mentioned. WTF Ervin?
If you insist on listening to over produced dance-pop, "Call Me Maybe" is about as good as you're going to find.
Haha maybe you disliked it! Who knew there would be such backlash over call me maybe
Wat? I am just curious. I think it said banned when he made the post. Wondering if that is something ironic that he requested as an undertitle or some kind of system error. I don't know what he would have been banned for or have any issue with him; I'm quite sure he wasn't banned for cheating at 20 questions.
Now I just noticed his name is green as well, so I guess it's a joke.
Give it a chill rob.
Nice find, Detective Aicirt!
I don't think I've actually heard that song before somehow. Confirmed awful.
And yeah, Taylor has a bunch of garbage under her belt. I would say it leans closer to all her songs being horrible than none of them lol.
Eb, top 5 WOAT pop songs...go!
Going to limit this to the last 15-20 years. I'm sure there was a bunch of crap from the 80s/90s/early 2000s that I just forgot about, so the comparisons won't be valid.
Also just focusing on pop songs and not rock songs that got play on pop radio (otherwise Lips of an Angel would definitely make this list).
Finally, I'm leaving off any novelty songs or songs that weren't actually hits.
1) Cher Lloyd - Want U Back
2) Ariana Grande - 7 Rings
3) Rihanna and Drake - Work
4) Meghan Trainor - Me Too
5) Tones and I - Dance Monkey
6) Justin Bieber - Peaches
7) Nicki Minaj - Everybody
8) Nicki Minaj - Stupid Hoe
9) Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband
10) Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora - Black Widow
It's likely I forgot some, but I'm quite confident that these are all worthy of top-level hate.
Unfortunately it's overloaded with female singers, but if I made a best pop songs counterpart, it would also be over half female singers.
I know what basically none of those are so feel pretty good about myself now
Worst song of all time?
Nope

Yes. It's a joke.

5) Ton
Solid list. I had not even heard a few of them. I think Nicki Minaj could fill a top 10 list all by herself...she may be the worst thing to ever happen to music.
Some notable omissions from the last decade or so:
Silento - Watch Me Nae Nae
Fergie - MILF Money
Lizzo - Truth Hurts
Katy Perry - Swish Swish
Drake - Hotline Bling
It's quite sad that pop music has gotten so bad that you can look back at a song like Mmmbop and go, "You know what, it's actually not that bad!"
Thoughts on Hey Ya by Outkast? I find that song fascinating because in my mind it's objectively one of the worst songs of the millennium, but most people don't seem to see it as the steaming pile of dogshit that it truly is.
